**Wimberley area post-flood update** Many of our past and future guests have emailed us after the devastating Memorial Day weekend flooding and we appreciate all the well-wishes and concern. We were very lucky that all of our properties were left high and dry and are completely fine. The flooding happened primarily along The Blanco River and the area creeks were not impacted so much. Our hearts go out to all the area families that lost homes, loved ones, pets, and property. All of our future bookings are good to go, and we are happily accepting new ones as well. We’re still a great town to visit!
Do you ever daydream about jumping in a travel trailer and heading west? Are you enamored with the vintage style of a bygone era? Do you enjoy camping, but secretly wish you had a real bed, wifi and a bathroom? If so, the Dixie Daisy is for you! This cute Airstream trailer has been completely renovated with a retro twist. It’s the perfect place to escape for a relaxing weekend surrounded by nature, yet equipped with the conveniences of home. Grill up a yummy dinner with your honey and dine al fresco on the large deck, take a morning stroll along the creek, turn on the string lights for some mood lighting, take a dip in the hot tub, enjoy your morning shower under the trees in the private, spacious outdoor shower (room for two!), and end your day relaxing by the fire with an ice cold beer. This is the life!
The Dixie Daisy provides all the comforts of home in one cute, cozy package. The antique iron bedframe holds a queen mattress, the bathroom has a small interior shower and a real toilet, the kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and utensils, and alongside the deck is a charcoal grill and fire bowl for your night-time fire. The owners really go out of their way to add those special touches to make your trip complete, such as leaving fresh eggs in the fridge (as long as the chickens keep up) and local organic coffee. They also strive to make this property as green as possible by using environmentally friendly dish soap and laundry detergent, providing recycled paper products and full recycling, using low-wattage light bulbs, and more.
This cozy retreat is nestled in an elm grove along the banks of Smith Creek on 10 beautiful acres shared with the owners. You’ll really feel like you’ve escaped to nature, yet the fabulous shopping and dining of downtown Wimberley are only 3 miles down the road. It’s the best of both worlds! So, what are you waiting for? The Dixie Daisy is the unique getaway you’ve been dreaming of. We are confident that it will exceed your expectations!
Pets are allowed for a fee of $50 per pet, and we ask that you leave cash or check for the pet fee with the keys upon checkout. Pets must be declared to the owners in advance, preferably at the time of booking. We ask that if dogs are left unattended that they be crated and that they remain on leash when wandering the property if they might be inclined to chase a child, cat, or chicken or wander off. Thanks for understanding!
Single night bookings:
We have a two night minimum, but when there is a single night gap in the schedule we are happy to accept a single night booking for an additional $25. Just shoot us a message with your date and we'll go from there.
We strive to give our guests as much privacy as possible, but you may see us from time to time during your stay. We love to meet our guests, so don't hesitate to strike up a conversation!
Here are our house rules. We put lots of love and attention into making this space to share with you. Thank you for treating our Airstream with the same care and respect you would expect from visitors in your own home.
*Check-in time is 4:00pm, and check-out time is 11:00am. Please be mindful of these times, as the cleaning staff is usually on a very tight schedule. Thanks!
*We allow pets at a $50 charge for each pet. Please be prepared to leave a check or cash for the pet fee if applicable.
*Smoking is only permitted outside. Please dispose of cigarette butts.
*If you wish to enjoy the fire bowl, please respect burn bans, avoid lighting a fire in high winds, burn only wood, and make sure the fire is out before turning in for the night. We strive to provide firewood, but cannot guarantee it. Please keep in mind that chopping cedar is hard work and we ask that you use a reasonable amount so that our supply is available to future guests as well. Firewood is also available at the Exxon on RR12.
*We are pet friendly, but do charge a pet fee. If you did not declare a pet at the time of booking, please do so asap. We ask that dogs remain on leash when walking the property if they might be inclined to chase a cat, chicken, or child. Thank you for understanding!
*The water here is perfectly safe for drinking, and we also provide a Brita filtration pitcher. No need for environmentally unfriendly plastic water bottles!
*This house has a septic system. PLEASE BE GENTLE. Do not flush any feminine products or non-degradable items down the toilet and dispose of kitchen grease in the trash when cool.
*Please rinse all dirt and soap/body products off in the shower before entering the hot tub. This helps us keep our water clean and prevents having to drain and refill the tub too often. The aquifer that provides our well water thanks you, too!
*At check out time, please place all trash and recycling in the appropriate cans just behind the parking area and wash all dirty dishes.
*The Homeowner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occur while on the premises or its facilities. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that the guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises.
This was our 2nd time back at the Daisy Dixie, because we love it so much! The place is an amazing glamping experience, complete with everything you need to feel at home, but far away. Jennifer and Gregory are wonderful hosts - they are easy-going, accommodating, and clearly care about making the experience perfect. Some of my favorite parts of staying at the Daisy Dixie are the local eggs (from their chickens) and delicious coffee (from an Austin roaster). The outdoor shower and hot tub are pretty nice, too!
This time we brought our dog, and she, too, had so much fun relaxing and wandering the property's trails with us.
The Daisy Dixie is absolutely perfect! Definitely consider staying here if you are planning a trip to the Hill Country.
Do yourself a favor and stay in this amazing airstream! This place is so sweet and the perfect getaway. Since we were there in the middle of the summer I was worried that it would be too hot but the air conditioning is super efficient and I was even a little cold at night. Jennifer and Gregory were very sweet and accommodating. The property is huge and it was fun to explore the creek that runs through the property. I cant wait to return to this place!
My wife and had the awesome experience of renting from Jennifer and Gregory during our recent stay in Wimberly. The Airstream was exactly as described in the ad and was fantastic. We loved the hot tub and out door shower, playing in the creek that runs through the property and spending time relaxing. When we arrived we had the privilege of meeting Jennifer and Gregory and they are super sweet folks. Thank yall for sharing your little slice of heaven with us and helping make our trip one that my wife and I will cherish forever.
Our stay at the airstream was just the perfect little getaway for a night! The outdoor shower was so nice on a mid-summer's night.
We also brought our two dogs with us and we all took a dip in the creek before sunset.
Jennifer and Gregory were both very attentive and accommodating! Can't wait until we can come back.
Jennifer and Gregory were great hosts during the three nights we stayed here. The Dixie Daisy is an adorable Airstream for a weekend getaway. It has all the modern comforts you expect mixed with vintage charm. We really enjoyed walking around the property, using the outdoor shower, and relaxing on the deck/in the hammock. The coffee and eggs provided were delicious. Wimberly is a great town and has a ton of things to do (Market Days, Middleton Brewery, Brewsters Pizza/Wimberly Brewing Co, catching a movie at the Corral Theater, hiking up Mt Baldy, swimming holes etc).
We did have 2 hiccups during our stay. Jennifer and Gregory did what they could do to make things right. Ants (in our bed, on the sofa, and eventually in our luggage) were a nuisance for us most of our stay (Gregory did spray outside of the trailer once we informed him about them and we had ant spray to deal with our visitors inside). Also, the hot tub stopped working after our first night there.
Although our stay wasn't perfect, we still had a great time visiting Wimberly and hope to be back again. Jennifer and Gregory are attentive hosts who truly want your stay to be the best it can be.
We loved our time in the Dixie Daisy! First of all, it is super cute and welcoming. We had spent the day zip lining and walking around Wimberley, and the outdoor shower was a welcome amenity when we checked in. Everything we needed was available, from soap/shampoo/conditioner in the shower to a pitcher with filtered water in the fridge to a blanket on the couch to snuggle under. All of the information that we needed to know was easy to find and there were lots of helpful tips. Through an interesting stroke of luck, close friends of ours are related to the hosts and we got the opportunity to all have dinner and hang out together. They were so welcoming and wonderful, and showed us around the property once the sun went down. It's a beautiful place and we really enjoyed our time there!
Positives! GREAT communication, beautiful property, very close to town (2 miles?), Wimberley is my favorite town in Hill Country. Try the Leaning Pear Restaurant! Awesome jacuzzi, fun outdoor shower with shampoo, conditioner, and soap. The bed was super comfortable. Also, very peaceful and private.
Negatives- no bathroom sink, sulfur odor in trailer, air conditioner woke me up when it would turn off (would make trailer shudder). My husband is a heavier sleeper and he said he noticed it but it didn't wake him up.
