"A treehouse, a freehouse, a secret you and me house, a high up in the leafy branches, cosy as can be house" -- Shel Silverstein
The treehouse is indeed a cozy little place perched on four maples 30 feet above a blanket of ferns. Access is by a ramp 70 ft. from the main house, where you'll have a private bathroom with shower. This quiet place in the woods has heat, electricity, and a small refrigerator. The main floor has a single bed, or CLIMB THE LADDER to the loft with a queen sized futon and down comforter. Enjoy the comfy reading rocker or sit on the deck and gaze at Mt. Abraham and the Green Mountain National Forest. The hot tub is a sweet new addition to the place.
For those less adventurous, there is a guestroom in the main house with a double bed. We have no pets and are very neat and tidy but you can bring your dog if you want. All linens and little complimentary toiletries are provided, and you'll enjoy a generous continental breakfast in the sunny dining room in the morning.

Hidden away under a canopy of majestic oak trees in the NE Kingdom of VT, sits the Tiny Fern Treehouse. Not to worry if you are addicted to technology and crave all creature comforts, you won't be disappointed. The treehouse and bedroom in the main house has HD TV, Wifi and waffle maker. However, if you are looking for a Zen experience and a place to practice your warrior pose, this is also the place for you.
Fairy lights twinkled as we climbed the twiggy stairs to our knotty pine haven. The 500 gallon hot tub was set to a perfect 100 degrees, and awaited our naked bodies. The 250 square foot deck overlooked a valley fringed by evergreens and protected by the Green Mountains beyond. The homemade chocolate chip, pistachio cookies were waiting for us to devour. After we gazed at the inky black sky sprinkled with millions of stars, soaked in the tubby, and ate our fill of cookies, a loft bed 40 feet above the ground beckoned us.
The morning's crisp mountain air made us ravenous. We were welcomed into the main house and sat in a room with windows overlooking the back of Sugarbush. The breakfast was a quintessential Vermont feast! We gorged ourselves on organic yogurt with macerated fruit medley and homemade granola, waffles with Vermont maple syrup, and local bacon. Take a few days off, pack your bags, and go!

I surprised my girlfriend with a weekend at the treehouse for her big Christmas present! All she could say was "This is the greatest present ever!" Amazing, relaxing, romantic and an experience of a lifetime. 10 out of 5 stars :) Hosts are so kind and have amazing stories to tell!
My husband and I visited the tree house for our wedding anniversary. It was just as charming in real life as it is in the listing photos. Harrison and Ellie made it all the more enjoyable with their kindness and hospitality. They made us feel right at home. It was a beautiful experience that we hope to share again!
This was by far one of the best vacations I have experienced. The accommodations are excellent and I couldn't have asked for a better stay. Definitely the trip of a lifetime. The hosts were so pleasant and brought such good energy to such a magical place!
Tiny Fern is an excellent weekend getaway. It is located in a scenic spot, in Vermont's Green Mountains, and provides people who love treehouses the opportunity to stay in a cozy, beautifully crafted treehouse. The hosts have put a lot of love and care into this place, and it shows. The hospitality - wine and cheese, full breakfast, use of hot tub, enjoyable conversation - is outstanding.

Ellie was a high school English teacher for 25 years and was an Associate Professor at Spalding University in the MFA Writing program. She has five books in print. We designed and built this house 12 years ago. Son Will and H built the treehouse over the course of three summers. H was also a high school teacher and retired in 2009. Your stay in the treehouse includes a generous continental breakfast, a private bath, spa privileges, and a quiet place to relax.
