Gæsteadgang
Victorian House seems to whisper its century-old secrets to you as you walk through it.

First Floor:
Standing in the formal living room, the honey glow of the original heart pine floor points you to the beauty of the intricately designed 19th century chocolate fireplace mantle. To your right is the original staircase that seems ripped right out of a BBC historical series, winding all the way up to the third floor. To your left, are an antique grandfather clock and a door that goes out to the car-port. Originally built for the height of a carriage, the steps help you get down to your car and the coverage is great for a raining day.

As you walk forward, past a set of built-in shelves, you turn left into the formal dining room. The rustic cherry wood floors compliment the rounded historical design of the fireplace mantel. Both original to the home, you wonder about the kinds of conversations these were silent witnesses to. Paired with this history is a marble dining table that seats six and a number of antique pieces that look like they were always a part of the house.

Immediately adjacent to the dining room is the family room and kitchen. The kitchen, fully renovated with modern conveniences, has an old-world feel with a double farmer's sink and wooden cabinets that pick up on the color of the floor in the dining room. The whimsical nobs on the cabinets echo the ambiance of the cozy breakfast nook. This fully equipped kitchen makes you want to pop open a bottle of wine and cook something tasty with friends. And then quietly relax the next morning on the front porches with chairs and tables, which are perfect for coffee and people watching.

The family room has a large L-shaped sofa with a 60 inch flat screen TV and about 100 DVD's to choose from, should you decide to do a movie night. The amber glow of the pine floors lead out to the private back yard, but not before making a right into the master bedroom, where the high ceilings, flowing curtains, oversized floor mirror and king size bed exude romance and privacy. The fully renovated bathroom next door has a beautifully tiled shower and European inspired decor.

Make a right and you're on the back patio facing the yard. Complete with a fire pit, the pink grapefruit tree that completes the tropical garden, the enclosed backyard is the perfect place to roast some marshmallows or have an intimate gathering under the stars. You could spend a whole afternoon here chatting with friends as the breeze comes in from the ocean. Then again, if St. Augustine is having one of its many fun events, walk out the back gate, cross the street and you're right there!

Second and Third Floors:
Winding up the stairs to the second and third floors, you feel like you are walking in the footsteps of the past. The five uniquely decorated bedrooms with queen sized beds invite you to stay the night. The two bedrooms on the third floor, in particular have a fun feel, with sitting areas that back to the exposed original brick columns. Past the fully tiled bathroom, spend an evening enjoying the breeze on the front porch. You could even take a nap there, as the faint sound of singing frogs from the nearby pond lull you to sleep.

Whether it's sipping sweet tea on the front porch with the locals, exploring the beauty of St. Augustine and its beaches or just spending quality time with loved ones, the Victorian House has more than what you're looking for. Its enchantment, echoes of the ancient city and the feeling of rejuvenation will stay with you, like a tender ache to return, long after you've left.

Andre ting, der er værd at bemærke
Make memories that will last here. Take a 5 minute drive to the beach, a Trolley tour through the town, a 5-minute stroll to the waterfront and the ancient Fort or enjoy an afternoon sitting on the rocking chairs on the front porch, where you can listen for whispers of history or meet the locals and learn new stories.

Saint Augustine offers more than just its ancient history; there are great spots to sip a latte, eat local seafood, visit winery and distillery, watch street musicians, browse various shops, soak up bay vistas while bar hopping, or just spend a day on the beach. There are places that celebrate regional products —especially locally brewed beer, locally baked bread and locally grown produce—not to mention St. Augustine's enthusiastic support of homegrown artists, performers and cultural institutions. There is truly something here for everyone.
