A charming traditional cottage near to the River Vilaine in a small, peaceful hamlet with about half a dozen other houses.
Ideal for anyone who enjoys peace and quiet, while being in the heart of the Breton environment.
Sleeps 4 in 2 double bedrooms.
Welcome to Mûre Cottage; located about 7Km North East of La Roche Bernard near to the River Vilaine on the border between the Departements of Morbihan and Loire Atlantique in a small hamlet with about half a dozen other houses.
The house is a traditional stone cottage located in a conservation area twenty minutes’ walk to the Port Foleux on the river Vilaine. It has been fully renovated to a very high standard, whilst leaving many original features including a stone fireplace, exposed stone walls and wooden beams. It has been tastefully furnished and makes an ideal retreat for singles, couples or small families.
Guests should be aware that the ceiling beams on the ground floor are quite low and anyone taller than about 1.9m will need to be careful to avoid hitting their head.
The ground floor comprises a large lounge with fireplace, open plan to dining area and a modern kitchen. The kitchen leads into a pantry for food and wine storage and this, in turn, leads into a second bathroom with walk-in shower, WC and wash basin. There is also an automatic washing machine in the bathroom.
The first floor has two double bedrooms, a mezzanine with a sofa bed and a family bathroom.
The cottage has private parking and a secluded and sheltered south-facing terrace and private garden, perfect for relaxing in sun or shade during the day and, complete with a dining table that sits four, ideal for enjoying alfresco dining and barbecues.
There is also a small garage which can be used for storing bicycles or other sports equipment.
From the house, it is about a 15 minute walk along a bridleway to the river at Port Folleux.

Andre ting, der er værd at bemærke
For golf enthusiasts the complex “Domaine de la Bretesche”, near to Missillac with its magnificent golf courses, hotel, spa and restaurants overlooked by the elegant Chateau de la Bretesche is 17Km away and only 20 minutes by car.
The Golf international Barrière La Baule course is at St. Andre des Eaux is 30Km and features two 18-hole courses and a 9-hole course. It is just a 30 minute drive from Nivillac.
The house is strictly no smoking and I regret that pets cannot be accepted.
I am sorry to say that the house is not really suited to wheelchair users or those with severe mobility problems.
For household rubbish, please only use bags of 30 litres size.
The sewage and waste water at the house all flows into a septic tank, which relies on a delicate environmental balance to operate reliably and digest the waste products. Under no circumstances should non-biodegradable items such as cigarette butts, condoms, nappies, cotton buds, swabs, wet wipes, sanitary towels, paper towels, gum, old phones, unpaid bills, junk mail, your ex's sweater, hopes, dreams or goldfish be disposed of down the toilet as these will rapidly fill and clog the septic tank.
If you use the barbecue then, as a courtesy to the next guests, could you please clean the cooking grill afterwards. It will fit in the dishwasher if you remove the cutlery basket.
I am Italian and I moved to the South-West of England in 1996 to be with my English husband. I am an artist and I work from my own studio designing and making architectural glass installations.
I had completely re-built and renovated my house in Italy, but I had to sell it when I left for England and I was looking for another project that I could stamp my own taste and style onto. We had our honeymoon in La Roche Bernard and immediately fell in love with the location and environment, so when we returned a few years later and saw the house we decided to buy it.
Since then, whenever we come here, we find that the tranquillity and change of culture just makes a complete break from our normal lives in England and we return relaxed and re-vitalised!
We have some friends who introduced us to AirBnB and we thought that we would try it as a way of letting the house for a few weeks a year.
