Phil communicated well with us in answering questions and was flexible about our check in/check out time. The apartment was simply furnished and typical as a tenement-style building in the LES neighborhood; the neighborhood was very lively and had lots to offer. We liked that despite the hubbub of the lively neighborhood, the apartment itself was very quiet was and a nice retreat from the noisy city.
This was my first booking at airbnb and if everything runs as smoothly as this it's almost easier than booking a hotel. Philip knows what he's doing, the information sent beforehand was clear and we did not experience any trouble. It was easy getting the keys, and also to leave our luggage on the day of departure and pick it up when we left for the airport. The flat itself is great, it's spacious, the wifi works, and linens and towels were provided. The area is amazing to, LES, is great. It's within walking distance to alot of great resteurants and shopping opportunities, and there's several spots just close by. If you're there during summer I recommend brunch at the Delancey that's on Ludlow/Delancey. All in all this was great, and I highly recommend Philip as a host and this flat.
The location of this apartment is perfect for exploring the city, but you really don't need to leave the neighborhood. There are great places to eat and drink just around every corner. The subway station just blocks away made it very convenient for us to get to all the typical tourist attractions. We stayed with our two teenage sons and were able to save a bit of money by buying snacks and breakfast food to eat in the apartment before our days exploring. We were very happy with our stay with Phil.
Philip was very helpful and easy to contact. The neighbour is enjoyable with many cafes. It has not yet been thoroughly gentrified but is safe and comfortable to walk in at night. The apartment is small but comfortable. It is two floors up a quite steep staircase. It might not suit older guests or those with heavy luggage.
Very decent flat, enough space for three persons and luggage. Close to the metro and allot of opportunities in the neighbourhood. The bathroom is small, but it serves its purpose. We had some trouble with the water the first day, but the host was quick to reply and answered our concern in an OK matter. It would have been nice with a heads up about when were able to shower the first day.
But all in all we had a great time in this amazing city!
The place was very cozy and comfortable. It was perfect for me and my boyfriend. I love how close it was to soho. It was literally a 10min walk. Philip was wonderful. I was able to call him late in the night when we needed help. I would definitely stay again and suggest my friend to stay as well.

My name is Phil and I've been living in New York City for 8 years. I love the New York because it has everything you could ever want: nightlife, great food, shopping, and quick access to some of the most amazing landmarks and sightseeing on earth.
I keep a very clean and well appointed home. I'm the kind of Host that will swing by at 9am to bring you a fresh pound of coffee if you need it. :)
When I'm not playing Host, I work as a freelance musician and sound engineer from a studio I own on Rivington Street.
I tend to keep busy but love to find time to slow down, read a book, or just listen to music. I love travelling, and look forward to visiting India someday...
If this is your first time, or millionth time, visiting NYC, you can't find a better place to stay. Feel free to send me a message and I'll respond right away.
Looking forward to hosting you on your travels.
