Escape the crowds of Seven Mile Beach for this peaceful North Side oasis in Grand Cayman. Welcome to Northern Lights, a 9-unit complex of privately owned two-story townhomes nestled in Old Man Bay, along the quiet north shore.

Northern Lights #5 is one of the few 3 bedroom units within the complex, measuring in at 2,400 sq. feet, and can sleep up to 8 guests.

Lush tropical landscaping surrounds this small sliver of paradise with 240 feet of sandy beach, sweeping panoramic views, and a protected coral reef teeming with marine life. Some of Grand Cayman's best snorkeling and dive sites can be found right outside your door. Alternatively, guests can relax above the waves on the complex's private dock, or lounge around the oceanfront pool soaking in the sun and beautiful views.

Inside, the downstairs layout is entirely open-concept and includes a full kitchen with modern appliances, a dining area and breakfast bar with seating for 8, plus a living area with a screened oceanfront terrace. The living area has all the comforts of home with plush couches around a flat-screen TV and sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea. Relax with a movie after a day of fun and sun, or kick back on the screened terrace and bask in the beautiful Caribbean views.

Northern Lights #5 Bedroom Configuration
(Sleeps 8 guests total, 6 adults max)
-- Oceanfront Master Suite: Upper-level suite with a king bed, ocean views, private terrace, and an ensuite bath
-- Guest Bedroom: Upper-level bedroom with a queen bed, garden views, and an ensuite bath
-- Bunk Room: Main level bedroom with two sets of bunk beds that can sleep 4 children or 2 adults and a bathroom across the hall

The home is equipped with central air conditioning but trade winds tend to keep the home cool throughout assisted by multiple ceiling fans. A washer and dryer unit comes included and located on the main level.

Owner provides a complimentary tandem kayak for guest use with a signed waiver required. A charcoal grill is also provided for island cookouts!

Nearby, Northern Lights is within minutes of a small grocery store, some of the best restaurants on-island, and the iconic Rum Point Beach. The airport and Seven Mile Beach are roughly a 40-minute drive away.

Northern Lights #5 is the perfect destination for sun-seeking guests looking for peace and quiet away from the crowds of Seven Mile Beach.

2) Silver Thatch tandem kayaks available for discounted rental. Signed waiver and 5-day minimum required with 6th and 7th day free: US$39 per day per kayak ($195 per week/each). Paddles included.

***Deposit & Payment Schedule***
-- For bookings made outside of 60 days prior to arrival, a 50% deposit (of rent only) is due in order to confirm your booking. The remaining 50% balance plus taxes and fees are due 60 days prior to arrival.
-- For arrivals within 60 days, the entire balance is due in order to confirm your booking.

***Villa Cleaning & Sanitation***
-- We're committed to the health and safety of all our guests and have adopted enhanced cleaning safeguards to suppress the spread of COVID-19. All villas are cleaned and sanitized prior to each guest's arrival using health agency-approved cleaners and disinfectants. We also ask our owners to provide a starter supply of extra cleaning products.
-- Additional housekeeping services can be purchased after booking in 3-hour time blocks. Scheduling may be coordinated with your property manager upon arrival on-island.

***Cancellation Policy***
RELAXED CANCELLATION POLICY ON ALL BOOKINGS MADE AFTER MARCH 14, 2020.

1). Once guests signed rental contract is confirmed with 50% (of rent) deposit, should guest cancel in writing prior to 60 days of arrival, half of the initial deposit (25% of rent) will be refunded to the card on file, less a 3.50% processing/admin fee. Should villa owner be able to replace the reservation in whole or in part, the (prorated) un-refunded balance of the initial deposit will be returned less any re-booking costs incurred. Should the owner not be able to replace the reservation, the balance of the initial deposit is forfeited.

PANDEMIC/EPIDEMIC EXCEPTION: Should a declared Pandemic or Epidemic prevent reasonable travel options to the destination, the guest may cancel and the entire initial deposit will be refunded, less a processing/admin fee of 3.50%.

2). Once full payment has been made (or the 60-day mark has passed and the guest has not paid the balance), should guest cancel in writing, GCVC will refund any occupancy taxes, cleaning fees and refundable damage deposits to the card on file. The dates will be opened on the calendar for rebooking. Should the reservation be replaced in whole or part, the guest will receive up to 100% of monies paid less rebooking charges incurred. Should GCVC not be able to replace the reservation, rent and service fee will be forfeited; however, guest will receive a credit for 50% of rent paid to be used for a similar stay at the same property, taken within 13 months of the original date of arrival.

PANDEMIC/EPIDEMIC EXCEPTION: Should a declared Pandemic or Epidemic prevent reasonable travel options after full payment, the guest may cancel up until day of arrival and all payments will be refunded, less a 3.50% processing/admin fee.

HURRICANE WARNING EXCEPTION: Should a hurricane warning (not a hurricane watch) affect Grand Cayman's ability to welcome guests; the guest will have the option of rescheduling the trip with generous owner flexibility or a full 100% refund of all monies paid with no deduction.

3). We strongly advise the purchase of CSA trip interruption insurance to indemnify the risk of cancellation, weather delay, airline interruption, medical reason for non-travel, etc. Please know that very few insurers will cover a declared pandemic.

***Rate Details***
-- 13% Occupancy Tax added to all rates.
-- 10% Guest Service Fee includes your Silver Thatch Membership.
-- Guest Service Fee is capped at 10 days for extended stays.
-- Owner requires a refundable excess cleaning and damages deposit of $500

***Booking Rules***
-- 5 nights minimum stay required.
-- 5 nights minimum and full occupancy required over Thanksgiving week.
-- 7 nights minimum and full occupancy rate required over Christmas and New Year's week.
-- Christmas & New Year's dates are split into two rental periods. Please inquire with your travel dates prior to booking.
-- Shorter stays may be available but subject to a higher cleaning fee. Please inquire before booking.
-- Must be 25 years or older to book and must occupy the property during the entire stay.

***Beach Notes***
All beaches in Grand Cayman are technically public since the Queen owns up to the high water mark. Be advised, the beach or water entry behind your property may vary slightly from the images displayed due to weather. The next-door beach is also always available for your use.

***Ocean Debris & Sargassum Seaweed***
Beaches in Grand Cayman may also experience floating ocean debris and sargassum weed seasonally. Sargassum is a generally harmless floating seaweed that has increased in frequency in recent years. Although sargassum is an unsightly nuisance, it is largely seasonal in summer. Our owners do make efforts to remove heavy sargassum and will have the beach raked prior to your arrival.

Should sargassum be extremely heavy behind your property, we will reach out to the owner for alternative solutions which may include a partial refund or relocation. We try our best to work around mother nature.

With a central location on the island, the homes in Old Man Bay offer perhaps the best shore diving and snorkeling on all of Grand Cayman. The beaches are mostly sand, but can also be pebbly with natural rock formations. Either way, with the varied marine life we have in the water, you will want to wear pool shoes or fins for foot protection.

The beaches here offer great seashell collecting and turtle sightings in summer! Old Man Bay is only 5 minutes from 2 large resorts in the east end (Morritt's and The Reef) that offer manicured beaches as well as restaurants, a modern grocery store, liquor store, gift shops, a Subway sandwich shop, and a cafe/pastry shop. Cayman Crystal Caves is also located in Old Man Bay and is a great daytime excursion.

Kurt's Korner and Over the Edge are two local restaurants about one mile away. Both serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner at reasonable prices.

About 15 minutes to the west of Old Man Bay is the famous Rum Point Club with water sports, restaurant and bar, a gift shop, and a barefoot beach with table service.
