Part of this building dates back to medieval times, but we refurbished recently, giving the place a 21st-century makeover. There's an open-plan kitchen/sitting room with a dining table for 6; a comfy bed in a peaceful bedroom; a study with a sofa that turns into a bed; then a free-standing bath and separate shower in the bathroom.

Perfect for weekday business trips or wicked weekends away.

Boligen
The kitchen is fully equipped and you'll find tea, a coffee machine and fresh milk when you arrive. Tesco, Co-op, Asian delis wait within 100 metres. Great restaurants are close, too.

The sitting room: high ceilings, exposed beams, contemporary art and a big sofa - it's the hub of the house. There’s underfloor heating below oak flooring, then views through skylights to a 12th century church tower.

Tech: diehard technophobes get books and board games. Digital addicts have an Internet TV with the main UK TV channels, Amazon prime TV priveded for free and other smart apps through which a guest can use to connect to personal accounts. It’s powered by ultra fast broadband with unlimited free WiFi.

Bedroom and study: both rooms have wooden shutters and double-glazed, sash windows. The study has a smart sofa that turns into a bed. The main bedroom, one floor above has a king-size bed dressed in crisp white cotton and rests on an unusual slate floor with built-in wardrobe and a skylight with a blind that’s operated by remote control.

The bathroom has a free-standing bath and a separate walk-in power shower. There are towels on heated rails, too.

The washing machine and separate dryer in the original vaulted cellar and are both are free to use. This is the oldest part of the building and the hearth dates back to medieval times.

The 2018 refurbishment was fully approved by Building Control and there is are fire and smoke alarms along with innovative sprinkler system to enable open plan living.

Finally… and importantly – the property comes over three levels with fairly steep stairs. It's a listed property and the stairs are protected. As such, we don’t recommend the apartment for those travelling with very small children or those with limited mobility. The bathroom and toilet are on the Ground floor along with the study, the main bedroom and living area on the first floor.

Price: We have chosen (24/4/2019) to take AirBnB fixed service fee option of 16.8% that is taken from the price a guest pays when they book and which is not shown when you book. The other way we have a lower listed 'price' and then AirBnB add their service fee which was around 20% as a service fee at the checkout. We are trying to keep the pricing as simple as possible with no hidden extras being added on to a listing when you get to checkout.

The property is also owned by Nick's business. At present the business has to charge VAT for every booking which is built into the price. After a stay we can provide a VAT invoice on request, so if you are staying on business you can claim back the 20% VAT.

It is often written that Bristol has no obvious centre, that may be so, but this is as close as you can get to the heart of the city.

Within 1/2 of a mile are the Cathedral, City Hall, College Green, Harbourside, 02 Arena, Hippodrome, Watershed cinema, Theatres, Clubs, numerous bars and restaurants.

At the top of Park Street, within 5 minutes walk, are museums and the main parts of the University.

International students and visitors are attracting in an increasing range of international shops and delicatessens.

So you can access pretty much anything 24 hours a day.

You’re in the heart of Bristol - the property stands across the road from College Green. Bristol cathedral stands on one side, the offices of Bristol City Council on another.

College Green gives way to lively Park Street, which climbs the hill up to the university. You’ll pass shops, bars, restaurants and nightclubs on your way up.

The university often hosts talks (some are free) given by national and international names from across the worlds of science, politics and the Arts. Check out Bristol Festival of Ideas to see what’s on.

Back down the hill, Broad Quay, with its bars, restaurants and the Watershed cinema (a Bristol institution), is a 3-minute walk from the front door.

Broad Quay is part of the floating harbour, a large stretch of water that meanders through the city. You can walk around it, then stop for coffee or something to eat. Small ferries will whizz you around if you’re feeling lazy.

The flat is at the end of a short lane. Small trucks use it to service the supermarket, offices and cafés in neighbouring properties. In the summer its typical city centre living so there will be some noise in the area with windows open.
