The location is beautiful, scenic and tranquil and the views from the property are breathtaking. We didn't get to meet Giacomo but Rolly was there to welcome us. It is a shame we couldn't stay there longer. Just one thing to keep in mind if you are planning to drive, the house is on the hills and the drive is steep. We were relying on our phone GPS and we lost signal when were 10-15 mins away. However, the directions provided by Giacomo are quite detailed and helped us get there eventually. But it a hilly road and if you take the wrong exit or drive further, taking a U-turn may be extremely difficult, just something to keep in mind. All in all, if you want to experience a real Tuscan life, this is a great place to be. Do not miss visiting Vinci, the birth place of Leonardo which is only a few miles away. You can visit a musem dedicated to Leonardo's work and Leonardo's birth place, it is also a great place to grab a nice lunch.
We had been told about the Old Stone House by family and it did not disappoint! The place is lovely and we had a great night there. It was a little bit of a bummer to be the only ones there, but we still had a great time. The driveway is a killer, but worth the struggle to arrive.
This is a fantastic property but very tough to get to with the winding roads. But well worth it. We felt a little abandoned because you can't go into the rest of the house, only the guest quarters. We did speak to our host once.
Winding roads are typical in the countryside in Tuscany! It is nice that you are saying it was worth it! The property has 12 rooms, we rent 6 for our guests and 6 are the private side of the property. Guest are always welcome to call us in case they need some information but we respect their privacy. It is a question of courtesy and style. Hope this helps to clarify. Sandi was there too shortly probably to enjoy and experience of the old stone house.
What a fantastic time we had at Giacomos beautiful home! It was everything and more that you could imagine staying in a house at the too of a hill in Tuscany! While we where staying there we also met a lovely Swedish family who we would eat breakfast with in the morning and relax at night in the lounge. The only thing that could of been better was the weather and obviously that is out of our hands! He gave us ideas of where to go what to do and was very welcoming and friendly! I hope to return in the future with the whole family!! Thank you and hope you see you again!
