This is a special place indeed, but has its problems.
The apartment is very big. The shared area with the kitchen, dining area and balcony is great, and there's this social feeling because no matter if your'e making food, eating or playing in the dining area, or hanging out on the balcony - you feel that you are together, and that's a big plus. The balcony looks to the Rhein river, and the view is just beautiful.
The apartment is decorated in a unique and interesting style, and has four "bedrooms" (one of them is a space separated with closets). it's a actually a huge attic and all bedrooms have this sloping diagonal roof which sometimes is not so comfortable. the single room was a bit small and if you're more than 1.75 tall, you can't shower standing in it's small private bathroom, but you can sit in the tub nicely.
The main disadvantage was lack of hot water in the main bathroom. we stayed for 6 nights and there was never proper hot water there. Joshua, The guy in-charge, tried to help, and called an electrician, which helped a bit and made the water warmer for a day or two, but it wasn't enough. Joshua, who was friendly and helpful, let us use the apartment below for shower, so that was the best solution, but still, not that convenient. A side effect of bringing the electrician, made some lights in the living room area, not to work. generally, the light switched were very confusing, and it would help if there was some guide for that.
Overall, I really liked the house and the area. I wish the house was maintained better.
Tip: if you walk uphill from the house and east, towards Buchberg (The neighbouring village) , You'll find "The best bench in the world" situated in the shade under a big tree with a stunning view of the Rhein and its surroundings. And apart from that, everywhere's beautiful. it's very nice just to go outside and walk on the banks of the Rhein.
