Centrally located in close-in Buckman SE Portland, between Hawthorne and Belmont… our sweet and little 1890's Victorian is our first home and it strives to be your home-away-from-home.
At 1800 sq ft and 2+ bedrooms, our home is roomy for a couple but spacious enough to accommodate a small family or group.
We love Portland and our neighborhood… surrounded by trees and biking lanes. It offers 5-stars walking access. You'll be close to food carts, coffee shops, bars, parks, music venues, movie theaters, restaurants, downtown and the river. By car, it's a 5-minute hop to downtown.
For sleeping arrangements, please make sure this works for your party: we have 1 king-sized bed, 1 full-sized extra firm convertible couch, and a twin sized bed.
We offer a full kitchen, gas range, dishwasher, backyard deck, energy efficient central heat, washer/dryer, flatscreen TV for movies, Netflix, wifi, 1.5 baths and a spiral staircase.
For outdoor enthusiasts, there's room to store your boards, skis, bikes, kayaks, etc. We're near public transportation, but if you have a car, there's a driveway and plenty of street parking.
This our home, when we're out-of-town we love sharing our little Victorian with likeminded folks who enjoy a local experience when they're on their own adventures. Portland's a great city and we believe it has a lot to offer.
We value the Airbnb community. We've had only positive experiences and strive to keep it that way. Renters with full profiles go a long way in building trust! We've also found it makes the experience richer for both parties. Communication is especially key before check-in. This helps us answer any questions you might have about the house, the city and parking/key exchange info… it also lets us know how much bedding and towels leave out.
We have a cat… but due to her disability we house her off-site.
We were back for the second time at Cynthia's lovely Victorian house and enjoyed every second. Cynthia was super responsive with any questions we had and gave us some great food suggestions. Loved the tofu bahn mi sandwich at Sweet Hereafter! We also couldn't stay away from the great brunch cafe a couple blocks away, Jam. It has a little stage area with lots of toys for our 2 1/2 year to play with so he didn't get bored while we had mimosas. Great neighborhood, walkable to great stores and a short drive to even more. There's also a park and playground around the corner which was also fun to play ball at. Super comfortable house, we slept great and it was equipped with everything we needed. We'll be back!
The place had a very nice homey feel. Cynthia was responsive and friendly, and gave us several recommendations for things to do in Portland. Checkin was seamless as she has a code operated lock box on the porch, did not ever meet her in person.
Cynthia's place was fantastic. What a great spot, the location is great but it's also such a lovely home to spend time in. The decor is so cool, it's a very comfortable space that feels very Portland. She left out coffee, tea, fresh sheets and towels for us, and was wonderfully helpful. It was the perfect way for us to spend the holidays!
Cynthia's place was the perfect place for us. My daughter and I stay here for 3 nights on a recent stay in the awesome city of Portland. The house was pretty much the same as described. We appreciated Cynthia's sense of design and eclectic vibe. Her home is well cared for and clean. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens and fresh towels provided. The kitchen had everything we needed. She was generous in leaving some fresh Stumptown coffee for
us to have in the mornings...using her Chemex coffee maker! Likewise she was great at reaching out more than once before and during our stay to make sure we didn't have any
questions or problems. The neighborhood is ideal and very
close to shops and restaurants. Having lived in Portland some years ago, I can say this location is authenically
Portlandia! I would stay at her place again in a heartbeat.
We had a lovely stay at this hip portland pad. Cynthia was generous and all the details for our stay were clearly lined out for us. A huge plus was the very comfy king size bed!
Cynthia was extremely helpful and her place was great. The location was perfect, easy to get to all the different neighborhoods and an easy commute to Downtown Portland. We had a wonderful visit and would definitely recommend staying in this charming Victorian.
We had an amazing stay at Cynthia's home, what a great travel experience! The house was hip, comfortable and very clean. We were traveling on our first family vacation with our 9 month old and Cynthia let us borrow a high chair and portable crib so we didn't have to bring with us on the plane.
The neighborhood was great, so much to walk to and discover and not far from public transportation. We had such a great time and would highly recommend staying here for your next Portland trip!
We're a small family. We pride ourselves on being mobile and adventurous but we also love our roots and routines. While we're away, we want to share our home because we believe that's the best way to travel–experiencing the little moments as a citizen rather than just a tourist.
