It is unfortunate that Angela was not happy at our cottage. Her comments are not accurate and are unfortunate. We strive to do our very best to meet the needs and requests of our guests, unfortunately, we can not always meet their expectations. I am not certain what Angela expected as we are not a resort hotel, nor do we represent ourselves as one. We provide lodging in the outdoors, in a lakeside cottage, this atmosphere, is very alluring for some but not all and clearly was not to Angela. Angela never once communicated to me via Airbnb regarding any concerns. She did text message my partner who was at the cottage above the rental. We addressed her concerns and tried to satisfy her and she did not reciprocate. We hired a professional cleaning company during her stay to power wash the outside of the cottage, the roof and walkways, as she was concerned of spider webs near the lights. Any cob webs that are noted are swept away between guests. She asked my partner to leave the lights on indicating she would return later that evening. He also requested that if she needed any thing extra done to please let him know as he would be leaving until the end of the week. She did not return and left our cottage doors and windows open and unsecured for the entire week. A week in which there were numerous thunderstorms that caused damage to our flooring where water got in. Interestingly, she stated the cottage smelled of mildew which is a smell we have never noted nor any of our guests, but she left the doors, open during rainstorms, a pile of wet bath towels on the floor for the entire week and coffee in the coffee pot for the entire week and never returned. Needless to say we were quite surprised when we went in on the day she was to check out. Shed ended up staying at our friend's rental down the road where they had a similar experience. She is the first of many guests to disrespect our property and to complain. I would not welcome her back again.
