Jarrahdale Cottage, bordering Serpentine National Park in Jarrahdale, oozes with country appeal from the white picket fence at the front to the fruit trees and vegetable gardens at the back. Breakfast features home made jam and eggs laid by the chickens in the garden (when they are laying, of course!).

The Family room is the largest room at the Cottage and is one of three available rooms. It has a small kitchenette with sink & cleaning supplies and a dining area with 6 seater table and chairs. A chest of drawers provides storage along with a large mirror, and there are multiple powerpoints. There are also two side tables with reading lamps and further storage drawers. The smaller room has a double - single bunk bed, wardrobe and shelving and kids toy box and rocking horse. There is a changing table for those with infants and a soft side cot. During the summer there is air con in the side room and with a ceiling fan in the main room. For those chilly winter nights there is a large oil heater and fleece blankets in the drawers or across the beds.

In the center of the historic town of Jarrahdale, guests can wander to the local General Store for coffee and cake or take the kids to the large local park only 200m away, or the skate park down the road for those with older children. There are many walks in the township, from the easy walk past the Millhouse Managers house to Turtle Creek, to the more challenging hikes around Kitty's Gorge and more. Many guests come as cyclists from the Mundi Biddi Trail which opens up just across the road from the Cottage and makes for a beautiful evening walk. There is a small museum in town ran by the Heritage Society which documents Jarrahdale's rich milling history, and there is an original felled tree nearby showing just how giant our Jarrah forest once was.

In the evening, the Cottage is a short walk to the Tavern where there is often live music. For those who want a fine wining and dining experience there is a longer walk or short drive to Millbrook Winery, site of weddings and extensive vineyards.

Her skal du være

Jarrahdale, Western Australia, Australien

Jarrahdale is a beautiful country town with a tight knit community. The sort of town where everyone knows their neighbour, you can stop and say hello without hesitation to those you pass walking by. With nearby towns such as Byford expanding rapidly, conveniences such a supermarkets and sporting facilities are ever closer whilst we retain our country feel thanks to the steep rocky terrain and the protection of the national park to the sides.

The Jarrah milling town has a rich history behind it full of stories, with the wood milled ending up as far away as London to make cobblestones - call in to the local museum and read all about it!

Mother to 5 boys and lover of nature. I will almost always be nearby should you need something. We love the personal touch of b&bs and the stories gathered along the way and hope you will make some cherished memories of your own.
