John, I'm sorry for your experience! It isn't the right way to come as a guest and be confronted with some problems.
But it isn't the truth about your statement! All are legal and transparent.
I said to you, and I had some bad experience with some strange people who try to steal the key or try to go inside the apartment illegally. That is why I talked to you not to tell somebody over the booking details with all the information of the code etc.
I'm again very sorry for your experience, but you didn't speak to me and never give me a chance to explain it to you. You cancel your booking without some information from me, just from some strangers on the street.
You called AirBnB service and canceled it without accepting the rules; this is very rude! Some people like you try always to find some ways to withdraw without the standard rules because the plans changed in the last minute!
When your plans changed, just let me know, and we can cancel it like the rules which you accepted as a self without some pressure.
I never recommend guests like John to other; it is like the hotel lobby sending some guys for worst review.
