I was very sorry that you did not enjoy your short stay at the carriage house. Customer satisfaction is a top priority for me, so please allow me to take a moment to respond to your concerns.
As advertised, the house is literally located in the center of downtown Sandwich. According to (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps, the house is exactly 0.1 miles (3 minute walk) from Main Street where you would find the restaurants and shops. The house is exactly 1 mile from Boardwalk Beach (5 minute drive, 21 minute walk) home of the boardwalk, kayaking rentals, ocean swimming and miles of beach. The house is also 367 feet (1 minute walk) to the Hoxie House Museum, 0.4 mile (8 minute walk) to the Sandwich Glass Museum, 0.3 mile (6 minute walk) to the historic Dexter Grist Mill, and 1.1 mile (21 minute walk) to the 100 Acre campus of the world renown Heritage Museums and Gardens.
The Sandwich Marina, where I had recommended a couple of additional restaurants, is a bit further at 1.5 miles away(7 minute drive, 31 minute walk) but is not town center as it only houses 3 additional restaurants and no shopping at all. However, the marina and town neck beach area are entirely accessible by a 10 minute bike ride using the bikes which were made available per your request.
Although many visitors love Sandwich for its rich history and small downtown charm, perhaps you were looking for a larger downtown main area, such as Hyannis. There are many towns to explore on the Cape, I hope you do return and try another town that might better suit your needs.
In regards to the air conditioning, the central AC has indeed been struggling to keep up with this continued humidity. However, it appears you left your windows open in the master bedroom during the two days that you were staying in the house. This made it harder for the unit to operate effectively. I would have welcomed the opportunity to address your concerns if you had communicated them during your stay. I believe I could have resolved the issue for you and made it more comfortable.
Thank you for your time. Best of luck with future travels!
