The Peabody Room offers 3 twin beds, a large bureau and closet as well as a writing desk. This room is located on the third floor and overlooks the brook at the back of the house.
The room is named for the Peabody sisters, Mary, Eliza & Sophia. Pioneers of American Romanticism and firebrands of 19th century literary culture, they were dear friends of Elizabeth Sherman. Sophia even carved a sculpture of Elizabeth's fiancee, Charles Emerson (Ralph Waldo's brother), for her to keep.
