Our apartment, approx. 1200 sq. ft. in size, is on the main floor of a 1946 duplex on a quiet, tree lined street. It has all the amenities coupled with original hardwood floor and Art Deco moldings. It is quite bright with large windows and is surrounded by a lovely garden in the front. The apartment has two bedrooms: the master bedroom with a queen bed and the second bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom and kitchen have been recently renovated.
Perfect for a small family, couple or business traveler who wants quick access to downtown, but with residential flavor and local amenities.
We like to get to know our guests a little bit. However, we also give as much space to the guest as they need!
Our property is located steps from quaint Monkland Village, with its multitude of restaurants, sidewalk cafes, boutiques and shops. This area is the perfect place to stay due to its range of broad avenues bordered with old growth trees. Charming co-props, duplexes, condos, and older styled houses from the 1910s - 1930s are abundant in this area. “Le Village Monkland” as it is known, has a very European flavor due to its blend of francophone and anglophone residents and shops.
There is a Bixi bicycle-sharing station within 5 minutes which will provide you with a wonderful way to visit Montreal on bicycle. A 10 minute walk to Villa-Maria Metro station provides easy access to downtown within 7-15 minutes and 10-20 minutes to the following attractions: Mount Royal Park, Old Montreal, the Old Port, Loyola campus and University of Montreal (and surrounding Cote des Neiges area); 30 minutes to the Olympic stadium, Insectarium, Biodome, Botanical Gardens.
We would appreciate our guests to respect the following rules:
- Please remove your outdoor shoes and leave on the shoe rack provided in the foyer. Guests are more than welcome to use indoor slippers or sandals (2 are provided by us) in the house. :)
- Please be mindful of the fact that the bathroom sink is constructed of solid wood. We would appreciate your efforts to keep the wooden surface dry (ie. no standing water, especially around the mirror!)
- In the kitchen, we provide condiments, sugar and salt (we understand it can be annoying to buy a huge sac of sugar/salt for a short stay). Please inform us if the supplies are running low. There is also a coffee machine and electric kettle (besides the remaining appliances!)
JP was there when we arrived, so he could give us detailt informations about the neighborhood and Montreal. He was really helpfull and friendly and always quick in answering our questions. The apartment was large and in a nice and quiet area, but still not far away from downtown. We really enjoyed our stay!
Really nice place in a good location. Very clean and well-kept. I love NDG in the summertime!
JP is easygoing, welcoming, and made it easy to check-in and check-out. I will keep your place at the top of my list for future visits to Montreal.
JP was waiting for us to arrive and very welcoming. We could always contact him when we had questions and requests and he was quick to reply. He also gave us a heads up about a Montreal event that could have impacted our plans. He was very helpful but ensured our privacy.
The apartment is as described in the listing. We enjoyed it. It was clean, the bed was comfortable and the location is ideal for a visit to Montreal. Close to the Metro and major roads. It's a very quiet neighbourhood. Overall a very pleasant stay and we would highly recommend it.
We enjoyed our stay here: great location, spacious apartment, exactly as advertised, very welcoming and helpful host, quiet street, off-street parking, well-equipped (and everything worked). Although you can hear the people living upstairs walking around, they go to bed early and are not loud. We slept well and comfortably for the five nights we stayed here. We would stay here again and can recommend it. Good value for Montreal.
JP was a great host. I had a few changes in plans and he was able to accommodate. The location was not only key to my dealings in Montréal, but its proximity to the restaurants on Monkland was simply a gastronomic delight.
JP greeted us very warmly and showed us around and explained one or two things to us. Met Christine in the street with her son and she also made us feel very welcome.
The listing was perfect for us. Close to the Metro about 15mins walk.
Close to Monkland village which had delightful shops and a grocery shop which was very handy.
The accommodation was warm and had every thing that we needed.
J.P. And Christine are wonderful hosts; helpful, accommodating and easy going. We enjoyed meeting them and felt very much at home in the apartment. It is spacious, clean and comfortable. The location was ideal for us, on a quiet street close to the subway and steps from Monkland Avenue.

Om værten, JP And Christine
We are a couple in our mid-thirties. We currently live in Montreal (Quebec) but are each from different places (Western Canada and France).
Since becoming members on airbnb, we have found that meeting and staying with people in their homes to be a much more pleasant and warm way to visit cities and meet people. We have begun to host in order to do the same for others.
Please feel free to ask if you would like to know more about us. :)
