Our apartment, approx. 1200 sq. ft. in size, is on the main floor of a 1946 duplex on a quiet, tree lined street. It has all the amenities coupled with original hardwood floor and Art Deco moldings. It is quite bright with large windows and is surrounded by a lovely garden in the front. The apartment has two bedrooms: the master bedroom with a queen bed and the second bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom and kitchen have been recently renovated.
Perfect for a small family, couple or business traveler who wants quick access to downtown, but with residential flavor and local amenities.
We like to get to know our guests a little bit. However, we also give as much space to the guest as they need!
Our property is located steps from quaint Monkland Village, with its multitude of restaurants, sidewalk cafes, boutiques and shops. This area is the perfect place to stay due to its range of broad avenues bordered with old growth trees. Charming co-props, duplexes, condos, and older styled houses from the 1910s - 1930s are abundant in this area. “Le Village Monkland” as it is known, has a very European flavor due to its blend of francophone and anglophone residents and shops.
There is a Bixi bicycle-sharing station within 5 minutes which will provide you with a wonderful way to visit Montreal on bicycle. A 10 minute walk to Villa-Maria Metro station provides easy access to downtown within 7-15 minutes and 10-20 minutes to the following attractions: Mount Royal Park, Old Montreal, the Old Port, Loyola campus and University of Montreal (and surrounding Cote des Neiges area); 30 minutes to the Olympic stadium, Insectarium, Biodome, Botanical Gardens.
We would appreciate our guests to respect the following rules:
- Please remove your outdoor shoes and leave on the shoe rack provided in the foyer. Guests are more than welcome to use indoor slippers or sandals (2 are provided by us) in the house. :)
- Please be mindful of the fact that the bathroom sink is constructed of solid wood. We would appreciate your efforts to keep the wooden surface dry (ie. no standing water, especially around the mirror!)
- In the kitchen, we provide condiments, sugar and salt (we understand it can be annoying to buy a huge sac of sugar/salt for a short stay). Please inform us if the supplies are running low. There is also a coffee machine and electric kettle (besides the remaining appliances!)
We rented this apartment for two of our friends who were visiting Canada for the first time. They really enjoyed staying there and loved the location. The place is well furnished and clean.
Just a quick note to say how much I enjoyed my stay at JP and Christine's apartment in the heart of Monkland Village in Montreal. While I can't blame them for the March weather in Montreal during one of the longest winters in recent memory, I can say they are gracious hosts and I enjoyed my stay immensely. I would highly recommend their apartment for a family as the apartment is quite large and has two bedrooms.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in JP and Christine's apartment. It is situated in a very picturesque, charming neighborhood of Montreal. Metro, bus and taxi connections couldn't have been easier. Plenty of eateries, cafes, shops, etc. abound. Bicycle friendly, too. The apartment was super comfortable and well maintained with everything we (website hidden) and Christine are uber gracious and friendly, great sources of local tips and information. Thank you JP and Christine.
We really enjoyed our stay in Monkland. The house was spacious and comfortable and the host was very helpful and easy to work with. We would highly recommend this location and hope to stay here again in the future.
Very comfortable and quiet apartment, in a charming neiborhood. Our hosts were helpful whenever we needed. We certainly enjoyed our stay, and hope to come back in the future.
We had a delightful stay with JP and Christine. The apartment is spacious and clean, with an open layout that makes it seem even larger than it is. The neighborhood is on a quiet, tree-lined street so we all slept very well ( sometimes we've had great places in Montreal, but they were noisy). One of the best parts of the stay is that we were in a peaceful area, but steps to the lively little area of Monkland village, and only a ten minute walk to the nearest (website hidden) and Christine were marvelous hosts. They provided us with useful information about local restaurants and sights. We even had a bagel with them the last morning to debrief.
We would stay here again in a moment!
JP and Christine have a great apartment located in the wonderfully vibrant neighbourhood of NDG.
The apartment has everything you need for short or long term stays.
We were able to spend an evening with JP and Christine for Cinq a Sept and really enjoyed our conversation. They are kind and thoughtful people.
We are a couple in our mid-thirties. We currently live in Montreal (Quebec) but are each from different places (Western Canada and France).
Since becoming members on airbnb, we have found that meeting and staying with people in their homes to be a much more pleasant and warm way to visit cities and meet people. We have begun to host in order to do the same for others.
Please feel free to ask if you would like to know more about us. :)
