We've owned our townhouse for 10 years and have never had an issue with crime. There are four neighbors on the same street (next door x2, across the street x2 and around the corner) who have all been there 10-30 years. I grew up on James Island. Unfortunately there are rental properties around the area where tenants don't take care of the property as well as a homeowner. If you would have asked me I could have introduced you to the neighbors so you would feel better. Unfortunately you and your guests represent those type of tenants who do not care for the property as an owner. Our rug, carpets and curtains were all soaked with pet urine as if they were locked in the townhouse alone the whole time. I'm disappointed and wish that you would have communicated any concerns with me. Especially wish you would have consulted with me on the condition of the property when you left. I've sold real estate in Charleston for 13 years and the space, location, ability to bring pets with no additional fee is a HUGE bargain and bonus for this townhouse. We do not take advantage of our guests and pass the savings forward. I am disappointed that we were taken advantage of in this situation and have filed a claim with Airbnb.
