Enjoy the cozy feel of a quiet neighborhood while being close to the heart of Austin. Relax on the deck with a wooded view, then stroll to the local coffee shop (Café Medici) or restaurants (Galaxy cafe, Zocalo’s, Cippolina or Jeffrey’s) or even Whole Foods. Access downtown, Zilker park, UT’s stadium and our town lake hike and bike trails, all less than two miles away. This is a great location for biking or walking around Austin; or to simply cozy up and stay in for a wooded retreat.

Molly's house is REALLY cool. If you are looking for a quaint crash pad just outside of downtown and across the river from Zilker Park, this is a tremendous space. The living room was slightly larger than I expected. The kitchen was very functional. Molly is responsive and accomm…

Spent the weekend at Molly's place. Her place is spacious and she provides plenty of amenities - coffee, towels, pillows, etc. It was in a very nice and quite neighborhood. Plenty of green/tree right around the house. Having a parking space in front of the house is very convenien…

Molly was beyond accommodating. Very quick with responding, and takes pride in her place. I didn't actually get to stay in her Airbnb, thanks to a cancelled flight, but she was very understanding, and super easy to work with.

Molly's house was clean and cute. She was always helpful with responding quickly and often. In a quiet neighborhood but still close to everything you could want to do.

How you like this house will very much depend on what kind of experience you are looking for. As a seasoned AirBnB user, I have noticed a huge difference between houses that are just meant for rental, and those that are people’s primary residences. (I need to add that my parents…

Hello World, I usually wouldn’t take the time to address pettiness. However, as I am from a family of scientists and lawyers (not professional B&B owners), I am a huge fan of facts. And when the truth gets distorted, that is when I bother to take action. Given that there are quite a few inaccuracies in the above review, I decided to delineate fact from fiction for you. I’ll start with the inaccuracies: (1) There is no “general air of neglect” in my home. In fact, I have spent over $60,000 on home upgrades in the past 3 years. These include new eco-friendly and organic hardwood curved flooring (Curv8 from Bolefloor); replaced the old central AC system with fully modernized and energy efficient AC/Heating mini-split units (Daikon); new exterior and interior paint jobs, new luxury bed (Vispring), a new roof, and $3K glass coffee table. (2) There are two reading lamps in the bedroom; one on either side of the master bed. These have been visible in my posted AirBnB photos since I started. I am now adding a third reading lamp for folks who might need more light. (3) I provide high quality linens and towels. I provide over 8 towels to my guests. Two are hanging on the towel rack and the others are stacked on the adjacent open shelf. I also use organic cotton sheets for my guests because I believe in quality for both myself and my guests. I am sure I have some towels with some modest fraying, but none worth complaining about. I certainly replace towels as need be. (4) Of the 61 knobs in my house, 2 of them are missing. (And they are on drawers that I do not believe any AirBnB person needs to be visiting.) If this level of imperfection is simply unacceptable to you, then I suggest that you might wish to peruse Conde Nest or Town & Country listings rather than AirBnB for your next accommodation? On to the Accuracies: (1) Yes, I do live here. Surprise, surprise. Funny, but I thought that was what AirBnB was all about? I also do not open my closet for my guests (sorry), but rather provide a hanging rack for clothes as the review mentions. (And I have just ordered 3 luggage racks for suitcases.) (2) It is true, I do not have a manicured lawn. If this matters to you, then my house is not for you. I have the grass cut in the spring and summer, but it is well under jungle length. As a biologist and wild forager for juniper berries for my family’s gin; I am far more partial to the natural look. And given that my yard is adjacent to a gorgeous woods (that you can enjoy from my side porch), I am a fan of the natural plants that creep into my yard rather than the monoculture of buffalo grass look. (3) I leave out coffee and tea, and yes I provide a pour-over cone. I also provide wine, beer and cider in a very cleaned out fridge for you. (4) Yes, we Austinites have grout issues. The above guests visited 5 days before my annual grout steam-clean. It was steam cleaned on 31 March 2018, and I am lining up a bathroom remodeler to do the regrouting next week. So lucky guests in the future will be met with perfection lining my bathtub :) Anyhow, I think that just about covers it. I welcome all of you who are interested in staying in a very well maintained artsy house in an extremely cool part of Austin. It’s a cozy abode in an exciting city and the location is amazing. I’m perfectly fine calling my house ‘bohemian’, but I would add that it is most definitely ‘upscale bohemian’. Warm wishes from Austin, Molly PS. I’ve generally had an amazing experience with my AirBnB guests, and that is why I keep doing this. I know that it is unrealistic to think you can please everybody, but when I received a request for a cleaning refund from these guests because I had rags on the basement floor (the very same rags I used to clean the house with for 5 hours), it seemed pretty clear to me that their demands/expectations were a little over the top.

The house was mostly as expected. Molly obviously lives in this house. Her cupboards are full, her personal items are pushing out of every crevice. Unfortunately during our Christmas stay Austin/ America was caught in a severe cold snap. We struggled to stay warm in this older ho…

I am a Biology Professor who works at UT and travels a lot for work and play. I am quite the water lover, as one can tell if you enter my home. I love Austin, and i love my location. I hope you do too.
