A little slice of rural village life, Lychgate Cottage is situated in the picturesque North Devon village of Atherington with it's own Village Shoppe and 16th Century Church. A peaceful village situated on a hill with glorious views of the beautiful countryside yet being only a short distance from Barnstaple and the famous North Devon beaches, all of which makes this the ideal country retreat to relax in.
The cottage is believed to be around 300 years old and has a huge inglenook fireplace with wood burner. It has two bedrooms, sleeping 4 people. There is an option to have two single beds or kingsize bed in the large bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need including cooker, microwave and fridge/small freezer. The upstairs bathroom has a large shower, basin and toilet (but no bath). There is also a toilet and utility room with washing machine at the back of the cottage as well as a tiny courtyard. The pretty garden is situated 30 yards down the lane from the cottage. It is 100 ft long and has seating and a barbeque as well as a small pond and bird table attracting wild life.

I'm married to Pete and have two grown up children, Sarah and Matt. I've been a teacher for the last 29 years, my subject being music! I play piano and cello. We've had our cottage in Devon for over 2 years now and absolutely love the slower, peaceful way of life, the beautiful countryside and of course the fantastic beaches nearby. So much so that we are keen body boarders as well as walkers and bird watchers.
We've used airbnb and stayed in Rome, Malta and Australia!
