NEW OPEN ANNOUNCEMENT: Our "machiya" townhouse space is renovated and now accepting reservations. Please check under "other listings" in our host profile or send us a message for more information!

About this listing: Travel back in time at "Kawanoji": 130-year history with modern amenities. The suite spans the 2nd floor, and has AC, soaking tub, wi-fi, Japanese futon bedding, and tatami floors.
Free parking is available.(The plane area is about 160 square meters.)

Size: 160m²(1st floor, 2 rooms(all Japaneses style rooms)/2nd floor, 3 rooms(all Japanese style rooms)/unfloored space/connecting corridor, toilet(western)/modular bathroom))house is booked as a whole.

A building is a perfect reservation only by you, so please use it freely. A building isn't used for anyone but you.

The accommodation is located at Fukuoka, Yame, in the town which inherits from the Edo period. It is a quiet residential area around the facility. The architecture which was a then paper lantern shop has been fully repaired and restored in 2007. The style which the house can be fully booked is recommended for family and group stays.

I have the 1st floor of following room. (1) Something necessary to the cooking by which kitchen space: is a stove, tableware, a pot, a glass, a refrigerator and a microwave, etc. has complete set of minimum, so you can take a meal freely. There are a supermarket and a convenience store in a nearby place, and the supply of the ingredients is also possible easily. (2) A living room of 8 mats (about 16 square meters): You can spend time done slowly in the Japanese-style room. (3) A restroom: 1 Western-style toilet is ahead of the connecting corridor. (3) Bathroom and dressing room: There are a shower and a bathtub (the size by which an adult stretches the leg and puts it in). There are face washing and a washing machine (It's available for free of charge.) in the dressing room. A Japanese traditional art is itself for the design of the windowpane.

There is the 2nd floor of Tatamibe shop in 3 rooms (8 mats (about 16 square meters), 8 mats (about 16 square meters) and 6 mats (about 12 square meters)). It's possible to settle by Japanese traditional doors (sliding door) respectively. You lie down on a futon (We prepare one for the number of people beforehand.)
It's possible to look at a courtyard from a bedroom and a warehouse of a Japanese traditional white wall (I dwell at present.) is seen ahead of it, and it would be possible to be very open and enjoy the landscape of the Japanese past. You can have time very quietly in the evening.

Her skal du være

Yame-shi, Fukuoka-ken, Japan

There are several local restaurants and cafe within a 10-15 minute walk of our place.

The production of the traditional refined green tea is number 1 (approx.45%) and is a prominent place for high quality tea in Japan. There are tea fields everywhere in Yame city, and is rich in greenery and is an area where the culture of tea is alive.

Around the town which continues from the Edo period, you will see the works of hand which has been passed on from generation to generation such as tea, kasuri, Buddhist altar, paper lantern, washi, stone lantern, Japanese sesame, bow and arrow, bamboo works, bucket, cedar incense stick and ceramics.

Our facility is located in the town of Yame Fukushima, which is placed at the entrance of Yame. It is a town of white walls which stand out beneath the blue sky. There are machiyas built between the Edo period to the beginning of Showa lined up leisurely.

It is recommended to walk around the Yame area before check-in. It is recommended to taste the space of traditional machiya which remains from long ago. You may enjoy your trip at your own pace.

Yame-shi located in the south from Fukuoka-shi about 45 km. It's famous as a production district of the best of Japan green tea (green tea of the highest quality). It's said that there are a lot of kinds of traditional arts and crafts the next around Kyoto.
It's an area which prospers as a commercial* handicraft industry place in the Edo Period that there is this building at a center of the city. Large-scale construction (house in the midst of the busy town) is in line relatively because I underwent influence in a castle town and there were a lot of clubs and wholesale stores of several industry sei wax, sake brewing, Japanese paper and tea manufacture with orderly subdivision of town.
A Japanese traditional house from the past selected by national important preservation district of historic buildings in 2002 is built much, and this Elijah is in line. More than 100 houses of repairing construction is going to be developed, and a young person moves, too and popularity has come out (A store of miscellaneous goods and eating and drinking is increasing.) Streets where a house in the midst of the busy town of old tile-roofing and a white wall of tsumanyuu ranges are attractive, so it's recommended to the person who would like to take a walk slowly (A message give the one of a request a guide beforehand.)

Hello. I live at Yame-shi, Fukuoka! Vicinage is advancing a movement for repair and utilization every day in the area where traditional old streets are left. Agricultural and forestry industries are popular including Yame tea in the city, and traditional industry is breathing a family Buddhist altar, a paper lantern, a stick of incense, a stone lantern and Japanese paper. Please cross the person who would like to feel (by simplicity, simple) good of Japan by all means.
