Our lovely 18th century cottage was completely renovated to the highest standard in 2016 with solid oak fittings throughout offering guests luxury and homely accommodation. The cottage easily accommodates 3 people with one double bedroom with king size bed and one spacious single bedroom. The cottage has full central heating with radiators in all rooms, and under floor heating in the kitchen. For extra cosy nights there is also a log burning stove in a Derbyshire gritstone fireplace.
Our lovely cosy cottage with its own private patio area is situated in the attractive and unspoilt village of Great Longstone only a few minutes from the popular attractions of Bakewell, Monsal Head and Chatsworth. Comfortably accommodating up to 3 people, Leaside is fully equipped with every modern convenience including free WiFi and is the ideal base for walking, cycling, golf, fly fishing for trout, or just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful and varied landscapes of the Peak District National Park.
Near to the cottage is a general grocery store, which stocks almost anything you can think of. Also, the local farm bottles its own milk, which can be bought simply by leaving the money on the shelf by the fridge! For those who enjoy eating out, there are three pubs (including one in nearby village Little Longstone) all within easy walking distance and serving excellent food. For real ale lovers, the pub in Little Longstone sells the locally brewed and highly acclaimed Thornbridge Ales.
Bakewell, considered by many to be the 'capital' of the Peak District offers a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and tea shops and also has a market day every Monday when market stalls completely fill the centre of town. Bakewell is only a ten minute drive away or you could take an enjoyable walk into town along the Monsal Trail, which passes close by the edge of Great Longstone village.
Whatever your interests, we are sure you will enjoy a comfortable relaxing holiday or break in the luxury of Leaside Cottage.

We always try to meet our guests on arrival and introduce them to the cottage and area. As holiday cottage users ourselves, we know that exploring a new place is half the fun but it can be useful to have some things explained like how the recycling works or where the best pub is! We live only a few minutes away in the same village and we'd be delighted to offer any advice or recommendations should you so wish.
