Stay in a cottage at the end of a platform on a narrow gauge railway! In a quite unique position, Railway Cottage is a well presented cottage at the end of the platform of Launceston Steam Railway. Brilliant for the young and old and when open, you may have a number of free rides on the trains! It is a quaint property with a homely feel and great access to Launceston and, being close to the A30, link roads to Bodmin Moor, Padstow, Tintagel and all points west!


The property is positioned at the end of the platform for Launceston Steam Railway which is run by the owners. If you rent Railway Cottage, during the season, when the LSR is open (details can be found on their (EMAIL HIDDEN) you will be allowed to take a number of free rides on the train, what better way to keep the young (or old!) railway enthusiast amused than getting to grips with some beautifully restored 2'0" gauge Victorian engines.

Launceston was originally the capital of Cornwall and is a bustling market town with plenty of independent shops and restaurants.

Railway Cottage is a recently refurbished property with plenty of character features. There is a small garden outside, surrounded by a picket fence. The property can be accessed via the platform or also from Priory Lane. There is also a good sized secure store room to keep bikes or any other bulky items during your stay.

Ground Floor: Sitting room, dining room, fitted kitchen; bathroom with bath, (electric shower over the bath) and WC, small utility room and a separate WC. Separate entrance from Priory Lane to a store room for Bikes etc.
First Floor: Master king size double (6ft bed) bedroom and twin bedroom.
External: Rear garden overlooking the platform. Parking in the lane outside the property for 2 cars.

Facilities & Services
Gas central heating. The kitchen has a range of fitted units, an electric oven and hob, washing machine, dishwasher and a fridge - freezer. The sitting room has a TV with digital Freeview and a DVD player, radio and CD player. There is mobile 3G coverage. There is WiFi available at the cottage. WiFi is also available in the station Cafe.

Electricity (reasonable usage allowed for), bed linen & towels are all included, but you will need to provide your own beach towels. There is plenty of parking space available at the property for 2 cars. We regret that dogs are not permitted and no smoking is allowed. There is a cot available. 2. All personal waste must be removed from inside the property at the end of your stay and placed in the dustbins provided. Please note and adhere to any additional instructions in the property regarding waste disposal.
3. Ensure all washing up is done and excess food is removed from the property at the end of your stay.
4. Leave the property in a clean and respectable condition upon departure.
5. Pet owners are reminded about the specific conditions regarding pets at properties.

Please be reminded that in accordance with our terms & conditions, part or all of your pre-authorised security deposit (should it apply to your booking) is at risk if any of these conditions are not met.

We have two children aged 9 and 12 who loved the idea of living at the train station. Hosts were very welcoming and it's a good base for reaching north and south coasts as well as heading further west for day trips.
