We're aware that many of our traveler-guests need a good night's sleep, access to the internet and good cell service, hot water and privacy. We're happy to help with directions and quick referrals to local diners and a bit further-away Very Good Restaurants. We're usually home but if guests will need to come and go, we provide a key. We're usually happy to visit with our airbnb guests who are interested in chatting.

Fall foliage color is a highlight of each year in this area; and winter-weather activities are available. A cross-country ski resort is only a few miles away, and several down-hill ski places are within a half-hour's drive. There are three "entries" to the Appalachian Trail, within a few miles and the October Mtn. state forest also has groomed trails for hikers. Other state and local government-maintained hiking areas are within convenient driving distances(URL HIDDEN) Museums, live music, live theater and cinema are all offered during the, "off seasons" even after the intense, summer season offerings at Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow and Williamstown Theater. Fine food in really good restaurants is generally available in Lee, Lenox and Stockbridge, and at Dream Away Lodge in Becket for its short off-season. Holiday dining events are available that range from buffets to reservations-required limited seating.
NO smoking, candles, incense allowed. Leave kitchen as you find it; advise us in advance if you need kitchen privileges. We have a well and private septic system; nothing can go into the toilets except human waste products and toilet tissue. All other hygiene products must go into waste baskets, available in all the bathrooms in the house. Recycling class, metal, paper and plastic are required by local regulations.
Robb and I are both semi-retired, and we built this project and moved in less than 3 years ago. It's important to us that in-floor radiant heat is supplemented by passive solar and that our, "footprint" is as small as we can manage. We dearly love living in this young forest. Wild berries and wildflowers surprise and intrigue us with the changes of every season. We follow news on BC and local outlets; and watch Free Speech TV and reruns of "Castle." We brew tea in a pot with loose leaves; we dine gluten-free and cook for our cats and dog. Favorite dining-out spots are local Indian and Vietnamese restaurants as well as Dream Away Lodge (look it up on the internet) and the diner a mile away that scrambles fresh eggs and home made home fries for breakfast.
We read authors as diverse as Elaine Pagels and Janet Evanovich. Our cars are 8 and 15 years old. We listen to music from the 18th century to the 21st; remember when the "golden oldies" were "top 40 hits" and appreciate skilled blue-grass pickers as much as wonderful cool jazz musicians.
We take pride in honoring your privacy and are deeply grateful for, and consistently pleasantly surprised by, the tender care our premises get from our paying guests.
If you need bigger area that's more private, look into our 3+ B.R. fully furnished house with attached garage, right next door.
