Double Spring Treehouse features a bedroom, covered spacious porch and large deck around an old birch tree that is suspended 20 feet off the ground allowing one to view the trickling water and wildlife that are naturally drawn to it. Access is easy, with a short front step entrance and the bedroom features a queen size bed that can be rolled through double barn doors and out under the stars for late night viewing. The treehouse is eco friendly with a solar panel for lights and charging phones.

Pladsen

This beautiful and fun treehouse is located on 82 acres that is part of the Wildcat Campground. It was built with rough planed wood from a local saw mill. The house is in a secluded portion of the campground where you will experience privacy and quite possibly view wild animals coming and going, during your stay. We provide a propane powered stove and a camp K-cup coffee machine so that you can get your cup of joe before leaving for the day. The treehouse also has a camp toilet (no running water) with disposable bags, but if you prefer the real thing a flushing comode is in the bath house, which is less than a tenth of a mile away. There are three rooms in the treehouse, each connected by two deck walkways. The living rooms is covered and serves as a great place to hang out and read no matter the weather conditions. The open deck is suspended about 25 feet off the ground and a great place to have a fire in the metal pit or to sit and watch wildlife. The bedroom is just off the deck and features a queen bed that can be rolled out under the stars, if you so choose.

Adgang for gæster

Andre ting, der er værd at bemærke

We have provided the portable toilet with liners in an effort to keep you from having to drive to the bath house in the middle of the night. Please feel free to use them whenever, but do not leave the bags in for others to tend to. Tie them up and place them in the trash can.

This is the perfect option if you're looking for a modified camping experience with some comforts of home (i.e. bed, roof, grill). The treehouse is secluded on the edge of a campground which is great for security, electricity, wifi, and bathroom facilities. We absolutely loved our stay and being able to cook on the grill and make a fire every night in the fire pit on the porch. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who enjoys nature. Stunning little getaway with vineyards and hiking trails all around the area. Joni was extremely responsive and had a great book of suggested restaurants/hikes/etc. upon arrival.

We had a great two nights in the treehouse. Spent a lot of time sitting by the fire, did some grilling. Bathhouse was very clean. Loved being close to the outdoors with the luxury of a comfy bed, electricity, and running water at the bathhouse. A couple spiders and "good news bees" hanging around, but they never bothered us. Definitely not for those unwilling to interact with nature but perfect for what we wanted. Exactly as described.

Very cool place. Waking up under the forest canopy with an early morning mist floating through the trees was a surreal experience. Definitely recommend.

Overall, I felt a bit disappointed in my stay. I had read incredible views of this place, not even a single neutral review, all raving above and beyond about how perfect this place was. I was hoping to experience the same. The place is very quaint and cute, definitely as the pictures show. The camp toilet was a nice option, however the walk to the bath house with showers and toilet was not far at all which was great as well for those preferring a bath house. When we arrived we immediately noticed numerous large spiders. I understand this is the woods, and there is not much that can be done about this. However I think it's important for others to be aware of this before heading out if that is something you are uneasy with. These spiders were large wolf spiders (my guess), that were thick 3-5 inches. These were in the room, bathroom, floor on porch, and deck by the fire pit. So we weren't even able to comfortable sit on the furniture and play games without worrying. My guess is summer months are much worse for spiders, and winter months may be much better! We made sure NOT to roll the bed out of the room because we did not want to invite anymore of these guys in! Additionally, the bedding was damp. This likely cannot be avoided outside either, but worth mentioning. Overall, I would not return or recommend this place. I barely slept a wink the night we stayed out of feeling a bit on edge. I've stayed in other treehouse's from airbnb where the room with the bed is in a sealed room with a sealed door. This one was more of barn doors that don't fully reach floor/eachother and isn't sealed off. If the full outdoor experience is your thing this is it! However, I do backwoods camping (in tents) very often, and find there are actually less interactions with bugs this way as you are zipped inside a sealed tent. Lastly, when I texted Joni about my unknown fear of spiders, prefacing it with how nice the place is other wise, and requesting to switch to one of her other properties, I received a mediocre response stating she is sorry and everything is booked tonight. Understandable, however I would have preferred to see a little more hospitality, either a suggestions on how we can get them away for the night (use the broom, raid, keep lights out, something), or an offer to come by and shoo them off for comfort. We ended up leaving after the first night, and not staying the full two nights we booked.

Svar fra Joni:
Taylor I am sorry that this experience was disappointing to you. Everything that you mentioned being disappointed by, you also stated as, "was to be expected." I go to great lengths to help my guests with detailed directions and have created a guide book recommending restaurants, hikes and more, but I don't have any tips for ridding spiders from a tree house outdoors in the summer in the woods. However there was Raid in the treehouse and a broom. While there are spiders I've never seen a wolf spider or anything 3-5 inches in size inside or around the treehouse. I am sorry you thought my response was brief. There didn't seem much more to offer than to confirm that everything was booked and apologize for your recent discovery of a fear for spiders. The night you arrived it was raining, so I am sure the humidity could have made the sheets damp. It is a shame that despite having admitted that all of these issues would be expected in an experience such as sleeping in the trees on 85 private acres, that you then left a poor review. I pride myself on offering hospitality but that has limits, and spiders in a tree house and helping you with your new found fear of spiders, is sadly out of my hands. I fear you have displaced your disappointment at not being able to enjoy the treehouse as many others have, and left reviews accordingly, and took that out in the review of this wonderful place.

I am the mother of four and we try to live as minimalist a life as we can in our gap of the mountains. We like the fresh air and the green rolling land. Our animals and guests are our passion and we like introducing others to this beautiful part of Georgia. I am a native of Miami, but only get to renew my soul with visits to the clear water of that area from time to time. My hobbies include photography, gardening, hiking, jogging and cycling.
