Upstairs guest room in sunny renovated home within 5 minute walk to reversing falls and picnic area. Bath located upstairs next to guest room. Cozy house in quiet neighborhood with local fisherman next door. Must be able to climb stairs to stay in room.

The house is a relaxing haven for sleep. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen and refrigerator for storage or ice. Coffee, tea, milk and cereal available in AM. The driveway can accommodate 4 vehicles. Guests are welcome to use the 2 bikes available in shed.

Guests are welcome to use kitchen and shelf space in the refrigerator. The kitchen is sunny with 2 windows looking out back to field. There is an electric range and a plug in kettle for hot water. A woodstove is in kitchen and guests with experience are welcome to use. Makes for a cozy atmosphere. The bathroom is compact with a shower and tub located right next to guest room. The main entrance to house is in the front close to parking. Because guest room is upstairs the house is not wheelchair accessible. I have Wi-Fi and cable TV.

I'm glad to answer questions about the area and make suggestions. I enjoy sharing breakfast when able but respect guest's privacy. Often folks come in late and I will leave the lights on outside and hallway. Guest room is upstairs so will leave the door open of available room.

My street is Martin Avenue and my house is the fourth on the left with a 42 on the mailbox across the street. There is a large maple and a horse chestnut tree in front near the road. It's hard to miss the trees but the house sits back.
Guest are welcome to heat water in kettle and use freezer for ice. You clean what you dirty. Dishes done by hand. Check in after 4PM. Check out by 10:30AM.

Welcome to the great state of Maine! My down east neighborhood is within earshot of Tidal falls a short walk where you can observe seal moms and calfs, eagles and loons. Walk over when the tide is headed in so all the critters will be busy fishing.
I have a cozy home with the bathroom next to the guest room. I also have two room cottage we call the Shackteau. There is a sink with cold running water, a dorm fridge and microwave. I installed a compost toilet along with a portable camper john. It's like half way camping out and good for some real seclusion and peace.
I encourage visiting Schoodic Peninsula (part of Acadia National Park) which is on my must list for bike riding around the ocean loop and going out to Schoodic Head . I leave for work many mornings but if I have an opportunity will give folks pointers on some good hikes and rides. There are various boat rides available for a price. I have brochures to look at and some local maps. It's a great way to really get a feel for being here on the coast versus doing it all from a car. At Park headquarter near Bar Harbor naturalist Rangers lead walks and explain what you find here. There are plenty of hiking trails including some ladder trails which are built into the cliffs for climbing. Also rent a bike to take around the extensive carriage trails in Acadia which the Rockefeller family first established for their own use. The other side of Mount Desert has the Bass Harbor lighthouse which is a personal favorite and has a very complete pictorial history of the regulated coast guards light.
Within a few miles are two dinner restaurants with lobster and fish on their menu.. Ellsworth is 10 miles and Bar Harbor is 22 miles. Portland is a 3 hour drive and the airport in Boston 5 hours. A late arrival is something I often anticipate. I encourage people to spend 3 days in the area minimum. It's such a long dive it makes sense.
Summer is short but fall is by far my most favorite. You will be glad you made a plan to come especially giving yourself enough time. This is a place to walk through lovely forests and climb over lots of rocky paths and peer over coastal cliffs. Come enjoy Acadia!
