Hi Liz. Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We're delighted that you loved the apartment and enjoyed the uninterrupted view over Sarlat's main square. I hope you don't mind if I add a little clarity to your comments. As you say, this is a lovely, bright apartment and we recommend that if guests go out for the day, that they close the shutters when they leave so that they return to a nice, cool apartment. It's not a "must" by any means but it is the reason why all properties in sunny France have shutters as it's a function they perform very well. Guests can also create a cooling cross-breeze by opening the rear windows of the apartment and there is also the fan, which I'm glad you found useful. The four coat hooks on a decorative backplate with a "cuisine" print as you enter the apartment are for guests to hang their coats on. Hopefully this didn't cause too much confusion. The apartment is on the first floor, at least 25-30 feet above ground level and we are not overlooked so it's not possible for tourists to look in and see someone dressing unless they are dressing very close to an open window. The apartment is situated on Sarlat's main square, popular with tourists because of the famous Sarlat market and street entertainers who perform on the square to the delight of tourists and some tourists may smoke. I'm pleased you took my advice to park in the paid parking bays at the top of Rue Fenelon which is only 2-3 minutes walk from the apartment. I hope you found the map I send to all our guests, pinpointing the best places to park, helpful. There is a small Casino grocery store on Rue de Republique, just a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Information on this store, and the other larger supermarkets located a short drive outside the medieval centre are detailed in our Welcome folder. Thanks once again for taking the time to write a review. I'm very pleased that none of the above detracted from you having a great stay and am delighted to hear that you'd stay again. We look forward to welcoming you again one day.
