This is the email I sent back to them is below. I tried to address each of her complaints and asked for more info so I could improve things. I was neither rude or condescending. I guess there are some people that you just cannot please. I believe this is one of those cases. The people that left just 2 days prior to her gave 5 starts for cleanliness, but she complains everything. The hair in the drain although unseen by me, would be a huge concern as I stated. A blown light bulb could have been easily remedied if they had called, texted, or emailed me about it. I would have sent someone immediately. They also broke a queen-sized bed in one of the bedrooms pulling the side rails right out of the headboard. Being a good host I didn't even mention it, but fixed it and moved on.
The comment about the couch is a gross exaggeration. The couch was just professionally cleaned the prior week as was the carpeting in the entire house.
I am glad so many other people that have stayed with me do not have the same opinion as Nicki's group. I take pride in my home and want people to enjoy the property and the lake. I hope people will see Nicki's feedback for what it is. The email was originally sent by Nicki's mother-in-law not Nicki.
The email I responded with is below;
I am really surprised by your email.
The ice maker and filtered water are not hooked up on that refrigerator. They never have been. That house is built on a concrete slab so there's no way to pipe the water under the floor to the frig. Nowhere in the listing does it say I will provide filtered water.
The hanger for the radio was a last-minute fix as the people prior to you broke it somehow and tried to hide it. I thought the hanger was better than nothing in case you wanted to listen to the radio. I didn't have time to go buy another radio. When I went there all the remotes were there, so I'm not sure what room didn't have one. Perhaps it was operator error??? Not sure what happened there.
As for toiletries people's needs differ so much and allergies come into play. It asks what's included in the listing and toiletries are not included. It says the towels are included and even has a little icon with a towel on it. If you had communicated that you wanted/needed toiletries I would have asked what you wanted and provided them for you.
The door to the patio was left open on purpose on entry day. While you were there someone disengaged the electronic lock for the front door and the place was left unlocked. If you turn the button (there's a sticker on the lock telling you not to do that) it disengages the locking mechanism. Many people think they are locking it so no one else can come in, but they are doing just the opposite. My guess is that you left your dwelling open all the while you were there.
The windows were also left open and all of them were unlocked. (Just mentioning it because it seemed to be an issue to you.)
As far as cleanliness the house cleaner did the bathroom so I cannot speak to the drain, but I will certainly discuss that with her. What else was not clean about the house?
I pay the cleaner good money to clean and I need to know what she's doing or not doing. I am really distressed by your comments.
