An absolutely lovely place to stay while visiting the D.C. Area. A historic mansion nestled in an urban area. Beautiful spacious guest rooms and baths, and great outdoor space! Nancy and Sue are gracious hosts, and wera pleasure to meet. We thoroughly enjoyed staying with them for our anniversary, and hope to return.

This was a great weekend get away for our anniversary. Not too far from DC but such a great change in scenery. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. The hot tub was a great addition as well as all the history in the house. The property was also very pretty. Would definitely come back and recommend to others!

The history in this house (you can look that up yourselves) is remarkable and you can see evidence everywhere of the original owners. The house itself is spectacular with plush accessories such as beds, towels, coffee, breakfast, etc. This is more than just a home, it's also a bit of a museum but filled with warmth and hospitality. Accessibility to the D.C. metro area also a plus with easy access to the metro. The owners Sue and Nancy make you feel more like family than guests. Highly recommend.

I cannot recommend this stay, or hosts, highly enough. Sue and Nancy are warm, gracious, and among the best host I can imagine. The home itself stops you in your tracks when you arrive. The beauty and history of this home separate it from nearly every home you will see on this site. Some highlights: - I was able to sleep in a bed FDR slept in. - I read the private letters and documents of the former secretary of interior during WWII. - I enjoyed a glass of wine in a hot tub under the stars. - I had an incredible breakfast in a sun filled dining room. - I had the intelligent, open and genuine conversation you rarely find. Trust me. This is the kind of experience you hope for with Airbnb.

RowanLark at Headwaters Farm is an amazing Bed & Breakfast! The home is breathtaking and at the same time it is very cozy and comfortable. Our sleep was very restful on the very comfortable beds and the rooms are decorated and appointed very well! The history is also very interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed the full tour! Our hosts, Nancy and Sue, are what really made my stay exceptional. I enjoyed myself so much that I returned the very next week with my significant for his birthday and Valentine's Day. He loved our stay as much as I did. If you are looking for an escape from the city you will be very pleased. The beauty of the home, the easy location from both DC and Baltimore, the extreme friendliness of the hosts and the outstanding breakfast that Nancy treated us to was absolutely spectacular!!! Thank you, Nancy and Sue. We plan to return. : ) Best regards, Diane

I am a hospice nurse, data analyst, and real estate investor. Nancy, my partner in life and real estate, and I work from home, which gives us a lot of flexibility for various check-in times and special needs that our guests may have.

My mother owned and operated a B&B for many years, even before most people knew what a B&B was. I inherited her yen for different kinds of housing opportunities.

In 2003, Nancy and I opened Brindledorf, a cooperative living community, where the motto is "Live Outside the Box". Our residents have included teachers, police officers, scientists, clinicians, artists, political aides, grad students, and a film producer. Turnover has been very low.

In addition to managing Brindledorf, Nancy works in community theater as a set dresser, props manager and occasional actor. You never know what props in progress you may find in our living room.

Our first few months of Airbnb have been so positive, we have decided to move a little closer in, to a house that is a little larger. Beginning January 2016 we will be offering space that is a shorter walk to the metro, in a neighborhood that has larger yards. Two large suites on separate floors will have wood burning fireplaces, private bathrooms, and lots of natural light. Because we believe strongly that having on-site hosting is a key element in the B&B experience, we will convert the Bradford Rd residence to a traditional rental home.
