Marpissa village is one the most picturesque in Paros island. Founded in the 14th century. Marpissa village is located in the southeast part of the island and it is a very quiet place where you can enjoy relaxing vacations without the distractions found at more busy places around the island.
Around the house and in the centre of the village there are a few taverns and mini market. At 2 minute drive, there is a modern supermarket with a greater variety of goods. Also, Marpissa hosts two museums, a folklore one and a scuplture one. Around Marpissa there are some of the most beautiful beaches of the island. Some of them are Molos beach, Golden Beach, Logaras beach and Pounda beach. Also, a very close distance(around 1km) there is the picturesque fishing village of Piso Livadi with a lot of restaurants, cafes and bars.
You can arrive at Marpissa either by public bus from Paroikia port(around 40 minutes) or by hiring a car. There is also an option to come by taxi but generally, it is not recommended due to high cost(30-40 euros from port or airport). If you are coming by plane you have first to take a bus to the port and after another bus to Marpissa.
