The cottage is in a superb setting on a south facing hillside with panoramic views across miles of fine Yorkshire countryside. Local real ale pubs and plenty of cafes in Marsden village a short walk (15 minutes) along the canal. Beautiful scenery, views from the cottage are amazing.

Old Piggery beautiful views. Dog friendly garden.

We converted the Old Piggery over 20 years ago, and have recently done a full refurbishment. It now has a cosy snug with a sofa as well as a lounge with far-reaching views. There is an ensuite bathroom and downstairs, a shower and toilet. The bedroom is on a mezzanine floor with a king-sized, chunky farmhouse bed with an extremely comfortable mattress. The lounge area has a Laura Ashley sofa and snuggle chair positioned to take in a far-reaching views or a 43 inch TV if you prefer!

With far reaching views over the hills and valleys of this special corner of the Peak District, Stoneswood Cottage combines a modernised interior (fully refurbished in 2025) with the charming character of a typical 19th century Yorkshire home. Chapelfield Croft is a delightful cottage built of Yorkshire stone, converted from a former outbuilding to the neighbouring barn. Located in the Conservation area of Ripponden, close to St Bartholomew’s Church, the historic packhorse bridge and The Old Bridge Inn dating back to 1307. The cottage is on the edge of the Pennines and a great base who love the outdoors with many varied walks nearby.
