The property has a history of artist residents, and we encourage creatives of all types to come seek the inspiration found by those that came before. The town of Marshall, an artistic enclave, is 25-30 minutes away, and downtown Asheville is a 45-50 minute drive. Hiking and rafting nearby.

The cabin partly functions as an informal artist residency space for our friends and comrades and guest who stay will find it more as a home environment instead of a hotel. Mendin' Fences is a working farm. During the summer months, we host horsemanship clinics. For more: you can find us on the web by the name of our farm. We are a great destination for a quiet getaway, a horse stopover, or even a family reunion if renting the additional bunkhouse. In each direction, you can find many activities to enjoy: Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge; wineries; historical sites (Rogersville & Jonesborough in particular). Two airports are 50 min & 1.25 hrs away.
