This 1840's miner's cottage in the heart of Galena is only 3 blocks from beautiful, historic and fun Downtown Galena Main Street, but is far enough to have quiet times in the quarter acre yard of perennial gardens as well the expansive 2 story front porch, and 3rd porch off the kitchen, with gas grill. The house sits on a corner lot in the Galena National Historic District. The bathroom and kitchen are newly remodeled and the entire house is designer decorated. Beautiful!

Historic Poehlman House - 1st floor bedroom

The Historic Poehlman house was finished in 1898 by Conrad Poehlman. Hand crafted into the hillside directly across from Abraham Lincoln’s tomb and rolling hills of the beautiful Oakridge Cemetery. Mr. Poehlman raised 7 boys and 3 girls in the 3 story brick home. Standing tall and modest at the very end of the street of a very quiet neighborhood. The rooms are spacious but cozy enough to make you feel right at home.

Forget your worries in this spacious and serene space on the second story of a grand home. Queen sized bed with private bath, which includes separate loo. Bedroom offers lovely view of the garden and neighboring farm fields. Hosted by Ann and Joe and their two cats who live on the first floor. Cats stay on the first floor and are not allowed in the guest area.
