Rua Awa Lodge offers picturesque self contained accomodation set on 20 acres of gardens, orchards, expansive lawns, native bush, (cattle and sheep, seasonal) and views of Mt Ruapehu, Mt Ngauruhoe and Mt Tongariro. We border a Department of Conservation reserve that resonates with the sound of birdsong, enjoy nature on your doorstep, private access to the Whanganui and Whakapapa Rivers, great fishing, swimming and walking. Or simply stay put read a book, relax and soak up the classic NZ scenery.

Soothing Riverside Cabin, Taumarunui

No cleaning fee, minimum 2 night stay. Cabin is a bedroom only, toilet, shower and kitchen located separately a few metres away. You are on the tip of a peninsula in the Whanganui River. Lie in bed and watch the fish rise in the morning, sit around the fire in the evening enjoying the peace and quiet after a swim. Mountains are 40 mins away, kayaking tours 10 mins away and Taumarunui is 12km. Please don't bring water, safe water is provided. Limiting plastic is much appreciated. No pets.

Dreamy sunsets over Lake Taupo & Ruapehu

Our modern home is 15 minutes from Taupō yet feels like a private hideaway. Quiet and secluded, it looks out to Lake Taupō and Mount Ruapehu, with stunning sunsets. Ideal year-round, it has outdoor areas with BBQ, large windows and a double-sided fireplace. Whakaipo Bay is 5 minutes away for swimming or walking, with plenty of bush tracks nearby. Not suitable for children. Hairdryer, toiletries and iron not provided (sorry guests keep taking them and it’s to hard to constantly replace).

Jailhouse Ridge is a fully self-contained unit with its own private access, ideal for couples. It is surrounded with 7 acres of gardens, ponds & paddocks. Your own private spa awaits you on the deck & is serviced daily. With a Queen bed, fully equipped kitchen, en-suite & log fire, it has everything you need for a fantastic stay. The mezzanine floor, accessed by a steep staircase, has a sofa, 42" TV , Freeview, DVD, WIFI. An extra 32" TV with Chrome-cast is downstairs.

Kia ora. 21morero is a 100 year old bungalow that we have owned for 20 years. It's where we raised our family and now we would like to share it with others. It's a place to relax: snuggle up with a book from the small library, cook something delicious in the well appointed kitchen, have a run on the treadmill, share a glass of wine around the family dining table, or chill out in your comfortable room. The Tree House is set on a small hill in the tree tops, requiring being able to climb multiple steps for access through the bush. At the top you receive stunning views of the surrounding forest. This eco house generates its own electricity and is designed to capture the sun. The two person wood fired hot tub is the perfect way to relax after a day skiing or climbing the Tongariro Crossing.
