Crabtree Cottage Te Awanga

Crabtree Cottage, featured in House and Garden January 2017, is the perfect getaway for couples wanting to escape to a super comfortable and stylish cottage. Nestled into the delightful seaside village of Te Awanga, it's a stones throw from the beach, cycle trails, world-class wineries and the Cape Kidnappers golf course. The cottage has all the charms of the original seaside bach but its fit-out is perfect for long summer days and nights and in the colder months as a warm and cosy retreat.

Whilst we cannot offer sea views we are only one street back from the beach so an easy walk if you wish to take a seaside stroll or bring along your surf casters. We also have the most beautiful cycle/walk tracks that will take you all the way to the city centre if you so wish. We are situated 10 from airport and 15 minutes to the city . We are also a very short stroll to the lovely crab farm winery. Plus snapper park camp ground is a short walk which offers eat in or take away meals.

We have a Hot Tub Spa bath in the garden and a nice sunny outdoor dining/relaxing area with a Weber BBQ. Inside, you can enjoy the radiant warmth of a wood-burner fire, heat pump and our very comfortable warm beds. We are located 2.5km from Havelock North village centre, where you’ll find plenty of cafes, restaurants, and boutique shopping. Enjoy your stay :)

Keep it simple at this warm peaceful and centrally located place. Perfect for families or couples who are looking for a comfortable place to stay a short walk to the beach, hot pools, botanical gardens, cafes, restaurants & bars of Ahuriri. Cosy over the winter months with a gas fire heating the whole house requiring just the click of a button & panel heaters in the bedrooms. Fully insulated. All day sunshine and a lovely place to relax in the evening out back on the deck.

The Pavilion

So close to the village, yet set in the countryside there are lambs in Spring and apple trees next door. Eggs are laid by our own chooks, bread, muesli and preserves are homemade. We'll suggest places to visit and restaurants if you want to dine out. Cool off in the pool in summer or take an expertly led yoga class! Take a trip to Hastings or Napier or walk the miles of tracks in Te Mata Park. Ocean Beach is just 15 minutes away and the Sunday Farmers Market just 10!

Our stylish cottage has the best of both worlds. Rural, quiet setting, only a 3 minute drive from the fabulous Havelock North village. Situated on a very special, peaceful, slice of paradise, on an apple orchard, on the northern outskirts of the village. Minutes from Hawkes Bay's amazing attractions. A twenty five minute drive to the Napier airport. Our swimming pool is situated behind the main house, 30 meters over the paddock.

CHEESEMAKERS RETREAT. Coastal Getaway.

Cheesemakers Retreat is set within the garden of the hosts home. Guests have their own private area screened from the rest of the property. Studio is self contained. Te Awanga Beach is accessible via a landscaped pathway down the side of our own house (about 30metres). The shingle beach is nicer at low tide. We are small dog friendly. (Charge applies)

Nestled along side the Clive River is our lovingly restored Villa “The Clive”. With Napier, Hastings and Havelock North an easy 12 minute drive, we are conveniently located in the Heart of Hawkes Bay. Clive has proven to be the perfect hub for cycle enthusiasts, with easy access to over 200KM of Hawkes Bay Trails.
