Situated off the A12 for easy access to RSPB Minsmere, Dunwich and the Norfolk Broads and only 1 mile from Latitude music festival. Our popular "gastropub" local is only 100m from your door, and a well-stocked village shop with Suffolk-sourced produce and all the essentials is just opposite. There's a farmshop and nursery in the village, plus a children's play area over the road. Enquire for bike hire.

It is perfectly located for exploring the Suffolk Coast, historic sites like Framlingham and Orford Castles, Sutton Hoo and Snape Maltings and is a great area for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers, with the magnificent Minsmere RSPB reserve just 8 miles away. Lowestoft has a sandy beach with several cafes on the promenade. Southwold is a picturesque coastal town, a 25 minute drive away and Beccles, a beautiful market town on the banks of the river Waveney.

Come back to the wood burner in the autumn and winter and a lovely meal cooked for you at the Queens Head just 10 minutes walk away. Our Cottage is pet friendly for one dog, please add this when you make your booking. Due to the authentic nature of the cottage it is not suitable for infants or the infirm with its Suffolk brick flooring.

Lavender Cottage, off the beaten track in Suffolk

This country cottage dates to 1880. It is on the outskirts of Wenhaston, 5 miles from the coast. It is a real escape to the country, overlooking Suffolk Wildlife Trust reserve. With cows grazing and birds singing it seems idyllic. Lavender cottage sleeps 5 in 3 bedrooms, a king size master, double bedroom and single bedroom. The modern kitchen/diner with new appliances has dining for 6, while the cosy living room has a log burner. Accessed down a bridle path.

Peaceful, country setting in Suffolk, near coast

Located just outside Wenhaston on a quiet country lane, the Cottage is tucked away off-road. It’s secluded and tranquil with aspects towards the trees of the garden and the neighbouring paddocks. The bird feeder by the patio attracts garden birds plus occasional visitors which may include woodpeckers, pheasants, hawks, warblers and rabbits. Nightingales and owls can sometimes be heard. Although peaceful, we’re within easy reach of the coast.
