Det skal I lave
The hike lasts about 2-2:30 hours including time to stop to take pics & breaks. We'll be exploring some of the best trails in south Palm Springs in the Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains National Monument in picturesque desert terrain. As we hike you'll get a close up look at plants & different types of cacti & enjoy amazing views from the desert valley floor below all the way up to spectacular mountain peaks. The Peninsular Bighorn Sheep, an endangered species is back in the desert for the winter & hopefully, we'll see some or other desert animals. From the trail we'll stop & see the Bob Hope house, the windmills, the Little San Bernardino Mountains that go into the western mountain perimeter of Joshua Tree National Park all to the north, the San Jacinto mountains to the west, Mount San Gorgonio (the tallest mountain in Southern California at 11,501 ft.), Palm Springs and other desert cities that make up the Coachella Valley. As we head back down we will see Indian Canyons, ancestral home of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians that settled in the area five thousand years ago. Any questions contact me, thanks! I also offer another hike that's longer, more challenging & at a slightly higher price. If you'd rather do the longer one let me know & I will switch them if this one has no bookings. Hi, I'm Carlos & I've been hiking the local Palm Springs trails for over 5 years now. I'm an avid hiker/runner & love being outdoors exploring the natural rugged beauty of the desert. I'm enjoying learning about the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians that settled in Palm Springs 5 thousand years ago & also about the flora & fauna. I've been lucky enough to see lots of different desert animals & plants close up. The desert is a very beautiful & peaceful place that I never get tired of exploring. I'm happy to help others see it & appreciate it as I do, all from some of the best trails & scenic points in the Palm Springs desert.
