The experience takes place at Acetaia Malagoli Daniele. Daniele is Sofia's dad and at th age of 22 she decided to turn his hobby for Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena into a business. The house is based in the emilian countryside, in the between of Modena and Bologna. What to expect? Well, first of all a warm welcome, but also a professional explanation - surrounded by ancient barrels - on the black gold of Modena.
The Malagolis are always glad to welcome tourists at their family’s Acetaia and to share their knowledge and passion with them.
This is an educational experience where you'll learn a lot about the traditions of Modena, but especially on authentic products and how to recognize them. You'll learn the differences between the IGP Balsamic Vinegar of Modena and the DOP Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena. They sound similar, they both are good products, but they are at the same time, different products, born for different reasons and it means that they should be also used differently. Moreover, you'll understand how to recognize them on the market.

Hello, my name is Sofia and at the end of the first year of Civil Engineering I decided to turn my daddy's hobby into a business.

Since 2015 I host visitors at the Acetaia and I'm always glad to educate all of them on the authentic DOP Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.

The World if full of many and many products and for a person who lives abroad is so hard understanding the differences beteween the products.

The authentic DOP Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena represents an important part of Modena culture and - hoping always to do not sound boring - I love telling it to all the visitors and make them understand how much loved it is by Modenese.

I always give a taste - usually at the end of the explanation - of our products and I never obblige anyone to buy. All my visitors must feel free to do exactely what they want.

This is a lovely experience, incorporating a tour and an insight into the longstanding traditions that make this very special product. There is also an opportunity to taste and purchase the vinegar and other products. We had a very enjoyable afternoon.

My husband and I enjoyed our tour with Elena and learning about the process of making the balsamic vinegar of Modena. Elena was very personable. Because of the season and the process itself, the grapes were already harvested, the battery of barrels couldn't be disturbed, and there wasn't as much of an interactive component to the tour. But it was still very enjoyable and we have a new appreciation for this delicious product.

Sofia is a wunderful host with a lot of knowledge of Aceto balsamico. Her enthousiasme and sparkly personality captures you and takes you into the world of Aceto Balsamico Traditionale VOP. I learned a lot of something I knew just marginaly. recomend it to all.

Just amazing. The balsamic tour was very interesting and the property was beautiful. The matriarch even showed us the vineyard, bird cage, bunnies and classic autos. Highly recommended and for a great price.

We learned so much, and really enjoyed hearing Sofia's story about how she started the Acetaia, and the vinegar was to die for! It was incredible to see her family's place, the vineyards, and how the traditional balsamic vinegar was made. Thank you, Sofia!

We spent an interesting and tasty afternoon with Sofia at the Acetaria. The hospitality started with an espresso and something sweet. Then we entered the acetaria and learned the difference between the types of balsamic vinegar, including smelling and tasting the various steps of the process. And finished by tasting the final product. Sofia was an amazing host and her explanations were interesting that made the visit very enlightening and super fun. We will definitely come again when the bed and breakfast will be ready for visitors.
