Brand new historical renovation themed as the Poet's Library. 10-minute walk to Heinz Field.
HISTORY Our private studio apartment, nicknamed the "Poet's Library," will take you back in time to when The Hamilton was built in 1893 by Irishman William Hamilton and his wife, Mary. We themed it to be the Library to commemorate Irish poets of their time. William and Mary Hamilton emigrated from Ireland to Pittsburgh before the Civil War. Once settled, Mr. Hamilton manufactured coffins for the war, and over time his business became known as the Nation Casket Company. His excellent craftsmanship could be seen throughout the magnificent home, from the hand-crafted mantles to the winding staircase. Around the time of the home's construction, Allegheny City, where the North Side now rests, housed some of the wealthiest people in the country. Over time the wealth decreased, crippled by the Great Depression. Birgo Realty stepped into the space decades later with a plan to revitalize the Irishman's home to its past splendor. By complementing original features with modern innovations, Birgo Realty restored "The Hamilton" to honor Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton's vision. ☆ Featured in Manchester house tour two years and counting ☆ Historic Register LAYOUT AND AMENITIES - First-floor studio apartment - Brand new renovation, including kitchen and bathroom - Original woodworking from 1893 - Queen-sized bed - Full bathroom including hand soap, bathroom tissue, shampoo/conditioner, body wash, bath towels, hand towel, wash cloths, makeup cloths, etc. - Full kitchen including Keurig Compact, Folger's medium roast K-cups, non-dairy powder cream and sugar, stove, oven, microwave, fridge, spices, pots, pans, cookie sheet, cutting board, utensils, paper towels, Brita filter, etc. - Dining table - Living area complete with a Roku TV (cable TBA) chairs, a couch, coffee table, and games - Lounge (common room open to all guests and residents) Furnishings TBA - Building shared with long-term tenants PARKING - FREE street parking all around the building. • The apartment is very nice, clean, and comfortable. That being said parking is difficult with the location. The entire street is permit parking only, making it difficult to access the apartment.

  • Dennis and Rick were wonderful hosts, check in and out was smooth, and someone was available if ever we needed anything during our stay. The house was absolutely AMAZING, as was the suite! I really can't express in words how beautiful the Parkview Suite is... the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was heavenly! There were many caring touches throughout the home. Water, coffee, and small snacks available at all times, and breakfast was excellent (the fruit salad was superb)! The location of the house was perfect... it was easy to get around whether on foot, taking public transportation, or driving. The park across the street was just gorgeous! Close parking was free and easy to find (we were able to park right in front of the house everytime). We really couldn't have asked for a better place!

  • Dennis's place was lovely. Perfect location and the room was beautiful. My only complaint was that we could only stay one night.

Wonderful roof deck! Lots to do , see, eat. Central location; walk to Downtown, stadiums, museums, parks, walking trails, Science Center, National Aviary, Children's Museum, breweries on this street. A real Victorian 22 room house and roof deck with a City-feel of skylines, up in the tree tops, sunsets over the Ohio Valley, and the moon! A second guest room with kitchenette in this house is available under the title "Pittsburgh's Fun North Shore"
My home is a townhouse with a roof deck near Allegheny Commons Park in National Register Historic District of Allegheny West; minutes to Downtown Pittsburgh by walking or driving, or to Allegheny General Hospital, Heinz Field, PNC Park, the River Heritage Trail for biking and walking. Minutes to the free Subway to Downtown, museums, stadiums. The room is a large second floor private guest room with three bathrooms with soaking tub, double bed, dresser, wooden shutters, refrigerator, microwave, desk. Includes Wi Fi , self-controlled heating and air conditioning, roof decks with views of the Park and the Pittsburgh City skyline. Built in 1870, the house had an alcohol still in the attic during Prohibition and a pistol shooting range in the basement. For early morning eating visit the Allegheny sandwich/breakfast shop next door! Nearby is the best Thai restaurant in the City, other cafes with IPO beers, Georgios Italian restaurant, and Peppi's sports submarine...as well as some fast-food places(Subway, Wendy's, McDonalds, and Taco Bell). Guests may use the washer and dryer and the two bicycles in summertime. The owner is a quiet guy who keeps to himself, a grad of Duquesne University. Jack is very interested in preservation of historic buildings, lives simply, plays racquetball, hikes and bikes, meditates and practices yoga. Nearby is the Andy Warhol Museum, National Aviary, Calvary church with its Tiffany windows, Mattress Factory Art Museum, Carnegie Science Center, Children's Museum, Rivers Casino, the Requin submarine on the Ohio River, the YMCA, PNC Park and Heinz Field. This location has easy access to all Interstates, the River walking/hiking trails, three neighborhoods of Victorian homes including the Monterrey Cafe, an Irish Cafe.
Allegheny West National Historic District is the name of this the smallest neighborhood in the City of Pittsburgh. Near to Heinz Field and PNC Park. There is a great variety of architecture. Gertrude Stein was born here. Andy Warhol's brother has a business here and the Warhol one-man-museum is a few blocks. Martha Graham and Mary Cassatt were born here and Stephen Foster lived here when his dad was the Mayor of Allegheny City. This is centrally located to many of the Interstates. Walk to the Downtown Pittsburgh in 20 minutes.
  • Lovely house. Jack is a wonderful, caring host. He is so knowledgeable about the city and things to do. The rooftop deck is awesome!

    Linda2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jack is really a good and friendly host. He has a lot of stuffs prepared in guest rooms. On the first day, he told me about the history of house and the city. Every question I got he had an answer for it. There is a park next to the house which is really good for jogging. The roof deck is nice and makes me feel relaxed, and the sight is gorgeous. The rooms are cosy and comfortable. It is a place that can make you feel like home.

    Steve2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Simple and clean accommodations. Easy access to Pittsburgh's downtown area.

    Helene2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jack was a generous and informative host. Communication was great and he greeted me warmly when I arrived, showed me to my room and told me all about the neighborhood. He provided maps and written information and had lots of recommendations for local restaurants and attractions to visit. I was in town for a conference so I didn’t get to spend too much time in the house, but I slept like a baby and felt right at home. The house is located in a beautiful historic district of Pittsburgh, in a neighborhood which is rather quiet, which was perfect for me. I was a twenty minute walk away from the Mattress Factory and the Andy Warhol museums, and only a short ride across the bridge from downtown. Great host and lovely, welcoming home and neighborhood.

    Erin2018-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jack’s home is enchanting. It is a tall, narrow, Victorian row house in North Side, very near (easy walking distance) the sports stadiums and downtown. The best feature in my opinion is the rooftop terrace....great views, in the morning AND evening. Jack thoughtfully provides beverages and snacks if you forget your own. I have stayed here previously, and will definitely stay again!

    Rose2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Charming place in a cool neighborhood. Especially liked the rooftop deck, great way to see Pittsburgh

    Kevin2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay, and would recommend to anyone who visits Pittsburgh. Jack runs this property like a real B&B: he greeted me personally on arrival, gave me a walk around the premises, detailed the history of the neighborhood and pointed out interesting landmarks, and stocked the room (I had the one on the second story facing the street) with coffee/tea/snacks. House was easy to access, and is convenient to the cultural attractions of the North Shore as well as downtown (where I spent much of my time).

    Jeremy2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • A nice traditional place located at the hear of Pittsburgh. Very nice amenities and home like feel. The only little bump, was an Airbnb message that was not delivered to me with last minute check-in instructions. Besides that, my stay was perfect!!

  • When planning a recent business trip to Pittsburgh, I chose Jack’s place over the downtown conference hotel, and I’m so glad I did. He’s a great host, accommodating and generous but never intrusive, and his lovely home is in an interesting and historic part of the city, right next to Pittsburgh’s oldest park, that I might not have explored otherwise. I had two very good meals just down the street: one at Nicky’s Thai and one at Benjamin's Burger Bar, which I'd describe as more of a gastropub and which has really good wines by the glass, if you care about that sort of thing. Jack was very responsive from the get-go, answering questions – usually within an hour – about parking, driving directions, and walking times to downtown. When I arrived, he supplied a street-parking permit and showed me where to leave my car. Then he took me on a tour of the house, which ended on the beautiful roof deck – the perfect vantage point for a quick orientation of the neighbourhood, a subject on which he’s both knowledgeable and passionate. I didn’t have time, unfortunately, to take advantage of his offer to drive me to the overlook on the south side of the city (next visit!), but we did fit in a tour of the nearby Methodist church he’s had a hand in preserving and its gorgeous Tiffany windows. The room itself is comfy, clean and very quiet. I arrived on a mild spring day, but the temperature dropped that evening and Jack, knowing I wouldn’t be back until later, was considerate enough to turn on the space heater in my room so it would be cozy when I returned. I walked between the north shore and my conference in the Golden Triangle as much as possible, usually via the river walk and the pedestrian walkway adjacent to the Fort Duquesne Bridge (twenty minutes or so, depending on your speed), but the (free!) subway is only a five-minute walk from Jack’s house and runs frequently. I look forward to staying here again and exploring more of Pittsburgh, and I highly recommend Jack’s home to anyone else who’s planning a visit.

  • Jack is a wonderful host. The old traditional housing with fine decorations, together with such a wonderful host, making you feel more than at home.

    Echo2016-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • This location is perfect -- close enough to easily walk to major downtown attractions, yet in a quaint neighborhood setting that feels far removed from the concrete jungle. We very much enjoyed Jack's gracious hospitality, the amazing views from the rooftop deck, and the great local restaurants. We will definitely stay here again when in Pittsburgh and will recommend it to friends.

  • 2nd stay here... and we came back for a reason. We loved this place first time around and weren't disappointed this time either. We will ALWAYS book here when coming to Pittsburgh, and you'd be crazy not to do the same.

  • Jack was an absolute pleasure! He was super thoughtful with amenities and tips on the area! He set us up with free parking, and we were really comfortable in the room. Although it was a busy weekend for us, we were really pleased with the stay, and if we come back, we'd be more than happy to come back and stay again 💖

    Bridget2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks to Jack and his beautiful house, this is by far one of the best travel/life experiences I've ever had. I decided on a trip to Pittsburgh at the very last minute. Jack responded quickly and I was able find a roof (the best one in Pittsburgh, too) over my head quickly. Everything from location, amenity, to decor, the place was perfect. Alleghany West is a beautiful and historically rich neighborhood. For me, the thing that made this such a memorable trip was Jack's extensive knowledge of Pittsburgh and Alleghany West. Besides the educational info, he has also taught me a lot about warmth, hospitality, and kindness. I wish I could have stayed longer! Oh, another note, that rooftop view of the sunset is on-point.

    Han-Chia2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Jack made us feel very welcome and I love the history of the House and the neighborhood. We had breakfast everyday next door at and lunch just down the street at the burger bar. Access to Heinz field was amazing, just a few blocks away. We had a wonderful time at Jack's home and completely enjoyed his company.

WOW. There is no real way to describe the detail and architecture of this place. It was carriage home by millionaire’s row in the 1900s and is still a historic building in PGH. • My husband and I loved staying here. It was so easy, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. It was just really nice to get there at the end of a day exploring Pittsburgh and enjoy being in a pretty and stylish place.

  • Greg’s Airbnb is an awesome location if you plan to explore downtown Pittsburgh. The Electric Shop has comfortable decor and has been stocked with everything you need for a great stay. Will definitely stay again if in the area! Thanks!

  • What a great spot! The apartment was absolutely stunning, located in a very cool neighborhood, and walkable to a number of restaurants, the stadium and more. Greg was easy to contact and flexible with our check-in time, which was really helpful. Overall one of our favorite AirBnB’s of all time!

  • What a gem! I can't believe I was able to book this beautiful place last minute at such a great price. I was in town for the weekend for a family members wedding and this place was great, wish we were here longer. Clean, spacious, centrally located, stylish and updated. The host Tom and Mathew were super quick with all communication, even before I officially booked the place. The only caution is this place has an quite a bit of stairs to go up to get to the unit, but we were all able bodied so no big deal. I highly recommend!! I see this host has multiple properties in the area, so if I ever come back I will do my best to stay at his places. Thanks so much!

    Brittany2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great apartment! Matt offered quick communication and was attentive when we had questions. This specific apartment sits on the 3rd floor so be ready to climb the stairs but it’s a beautiful space that can easily accommodate larger groups. The building was extremely quiet and the neighborhood is safe. You can easily access the city or catch an Uber/Lyft. The private parking is also a big bonus!!! This was a business trip and my coworker and I comfortably shared this space.

    Maranda2019-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding 3rd floor flat with plenty of room to spread out. The two bathrooms were excellent, the many towels were clean and ready for all our guests. And the kitchen was well equipped to make breakfast or lunch. Great value near the heart of Pittsburgh.

    Derrick2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with a lot to do and very clean and up to date house. Mathew thought of everything and housed our whole group with ease.

    Eric2019-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, easy communication. Place is nice, spacious and clean. Great location too, metro ride was free to downtown, the station is 10 minutes walk from the apartment, and two stops away from the center of Pittsburgh. Will definitely recommend it!

    Irina2019-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a well-located and well-appointed place for a group to stay. There were 4 of us, a group of friends all traveling solo. With the many available beds, there was no doubling up needed, with room to spare. The bathrooms and kitchen are gorgeous -- new and modern. The snacks provided in the kitchen were a nice touch. TV in living room has Roku installed for all streaming needs. It is a few blocks a street with nice bars and restaurants and easily accessible to PNC Park and Heinz Field. It would be nice if soap and shampoo had been provided, but the beds were clean, and there were basically all of the amenities that are expected at an AirBnB. Matthew responded immediately to 2 messages on the day of check-in and that is always appreciated. A great place for a group to stay. Recommended!

    Jonathan2019-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Matt's place was my first experience in staying at an Air Bnb. I traveled to Pittsburgh with my family and his place was able to accommodate them all with space left over. The stay was overall a decent experience, but we were only there long enough to sleep and hit the road the following morning. The only issue that I had was with cleanliness. There had been someone staying there the night before, and whatever cleaning crew that he has did a poor job. About the only thing that they did was vacuum the carpet in the bedrooms. They did not sweep the kitchen or common areas, take out the trash or check under the beds and couches for dirty socks or drink bottles. There was a couple other issues; smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling via the electrical wires and a vent was falling halfway out of the ceiling due to a screw losing its hold in the drywall. A bar recently opened on the first floor of the building. The neighborhood feels a bit sketchy, if you are travelling with children. Had I been by myself or just with the wife, I wouldn't have given it a second thought. If you are staying on a Sunday night, like I did, you will be pleasantly surprised by the 5am dumpster pickup (that you can hear from the master bedroom).

    Aaron2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • The space was clean, secure, and conveniently located to everything. Two unintended/unforeseen issues arose during our stay and were resolved fast by the host: (1) the air-conditioning unit broke and the host had a crew out to fix it immediately. (2) a third party created a bit of a parking issue, but again the host was able to resolve the issue extremely fast. The host is accessible and not only responds to issues and concerns immediately, but jumps on them fast to resolve them ASAP. This is the most important quality for a host and this host has it. The service matched my expectations. They did not disappoint. I would highly recommend this host and the property. We had a fantastic stay.

  • Clean, great location, spacious - highly recommmed. Only two people can sit comfortably in living room so maybe bring a chair or a bean bag? Not a deal breaker though, the place is great. I was sick and didn’t get to get out as much as I’d wanted.

    Maggie2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • It was in a lovey historic neighborhood and was a cozy place for our family of 4 plus our canine companion. We had all the amenities necessary and could walk to restaurants, cafés, and a great park with a dog run. Parking was easy, too.

  • Skip and Cate’s place is ideal for a family of four or a few friends traveling together. The house is charming and convenient, and the hosts were completely obliging. Highly recommended.

  • Great row home on north side. Easy walk to Warhol Museum and Heinz Field. Range of restaurants easy walking distance. Would love to stay again.

    Ann2018-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Skip & Cate were impressively responsive, and when we had two very, very minor questions (parking clarification and had question about electronic lock), they replied immediately and were ready to help...even standing by with a video how-to to use the electronic lock. Amazing hosts. Location was great, townhouse was adorable, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed the Netflix and Apple TV...a nice little surprise. There was unexpectedly shampoo, soap, and a hair dryer, too! House seemed much more updated than expected, even from the photos. It was a quick $7-8 uber to downtown, which is where we spent most of our time.

    Megan2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend to anyone! Walking to shops and food. Walkable to the stadiums. Walkable to parks and museums. Wonderful location. Easy parking. Adorable home.

Historic / Contemporary 1860's Home. Nearly 3,000 square feet to enjoy! Well-behaved dogs are welcomed. Please see the "Other Things to Know" section for dog guidelines.
Welcome! We will be very glad to host you and your pups, and will do whatever we can to make your stay a great experience. We do this to financially support the work of Agape Africa Fund, which works on behalf of the medical missionaries who serve at Bongolo Hospital in Gabon, Africa. About Our Home: The main level offers a contemporary open floor plan between the spacious living and dining rooms, and the modern kitchen. Original hardwood floors, tall windows, and floor-to-ceiling brick chimneys are contrasted by the modern furnishings. The kitchen has a large marble island with breakfast bar and lots of counter space. Everything that you need for cooking is here! A convenient half bath has been added on this level. 2nd floor: colorful media room with surround sound, short-throw projector for movies and online viewing (there is an Amazon Firestick) on a 120-inch full-wall screen (sorry, we have no regular TV's in any other room). The large master bedroom has a queen size bed and ensuite bathroom with double sinks, Corian countertop, and a luxurious walk-in shower. Also, there is a full hallway bathroom and 2nd-floor laundry. 3rd Floor: bedroom with a full-size, bathroom with a shower, and a large office. Not quite as "perfectly finished", but still very nice and comfortable! There is window air conditioning throughout our home and many of the rooms have ceiling fans so things stay quite comfortable most of the time! (No central A/C at this point). While our entire home is very comfortable and safe, there are details throughout to be eventually finished. It is a very long labor of love when you have an old house!
Located just across the Allegheny River from downtown Pittsburgh and a short walk up the hill from Heinz Field, this beautiful home is in 'Allegheny West', an Historic district full of beautiful homes and mansions, and is an up-and-coming restaurant and brew pub area.
  • This home is a great combo of old and new. I don't think you'll find a more unique place. The location is amazing with so much within walking distance. Doug was a great host and was on top of all communication. Everything was very turnkey and easy, with lots of tips and info left for his guests. We really enjoyed staying her and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place in Pittsburgh. If I happen to travel to this locale in the future, Doug's place will be the first one I try to reserve. Thanks for everything!

    Joe2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend staying at Doug's home. It is a unique, well-located and clean space that had everything we needed. Doug was easy to communicate with about checking in, parking etc. We will definitely try to stay here on our next visit.

  • Awesome location. Very cool historical townhome with nice little touches like doggie bags at the door :). Take a stroll around the neighborhood, continue to the park with your dog which we did and met some great locals. The hosts had great instructions, will come again.

  • This place is immaculate, has a ton of character, all the personal touches of home, and feels like a vacation. And, if you’re looking for something close to downtown without the hassle, then book your stay, here. For being in the city, this is a quieter street. Doug is an exceptional host. He is very accommodating, quick to respond, and wants to make sure his guests are taken care of. This house also has the most comfortable beds I may have ever slept in. Seriously, a very impressive stay. Will definitely be staying here in the future!

  • During my time in Pittsburgh, I had the chance to stay in two of Fred’s units for the past seven months. Both of which were very clean, comfortable and very much worth the price. Fred and his leasing agent were a pleasure to deal with and whenever I had an issue, it was easy to get in contact and the issue was resolved immediately. The area was awesome too! Close to some great food spots and the proximity to Downtown is perfect as well. If you’re new to Pittsburgh and you need a GREAT place to stay while you’re figuring things out, I 100% recommend Faulsey Flats.

    Jake2019-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Working out of town for several months can be stressful... Finding Fred's place made it a much more pleasurable experience. The apartment is tasteful, clean and well appointed, the building is beautiful and I loved the feel of historic Manchester. The neighborhood is quiet and always felt safe. Communication with Fred and Vivian was quick and easy. Would definitely book again if I were coming back to Pittsburgh for an extended amount of time!

    Emmanuelle2018-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The couch in the living room is actually a very uncomfortable futon. The internet is also very unreliable. The apartment was very cute and nice but was just not comfortable for someone who would spend a lot of time there or for someone who needs internet for school especially long term. Also outside of business hours it was hard to get in touch with someone at the managing agency. I had to call a locksmith to get into my apartment after I had locked my keys inside because I was told the company did not unlock doors during off hours if at all.

    Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Newly renovated, artfully-appointed, spacious two-story, two bedroom apartment (1000+ sq. feet) located in Pittsburgh's North Side, one of the most architecturally rich and centrally-located neighborhoods in the city. Within a short walking distance to downtown, Heinz Field, PNC Park, Stage AE, The Warhol Museum, The National Aviary, local restaurants, and more (all within a 10-15 minute walk or less). Premium cable, high speed WiFi, & Bluetooth speaker included. Plus, a free parking pass!
Our two-story, two-bedroom apartment is located in Allegheny West, on Pittsburgh's Northside. Officially the smallest neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Allegheny West is home to 19th century architecture characteristic of the gilded industrial era. Originally named Allegheny City, the neighborhood was considered the gold coast of the region, and stood among the wealthiest in the world before annexation by Pittsburgh in 1907. Built in the 1870s, our apartment is part of a historic row house district. Many of the original floor beams, as well as exposed brick, were preserved during the renovation. Ceilings were restored to a 12 foot height throughout the living room and kitchen, while lofted ceilings were constructed in the bedrooms. The neighborhood is home to a mix of eclectic small businesses and historic sites, including City of Asylum bookstore and performance venue, local restaurants and charming bars, craft breweries, coffee shops, art museums, RandyLand, and historic sites, such as the birthplace of writer and poet Gertrude Stein on Beech Street. Nearby is Allegheny Commons, a beautiful and tranquil city park with tennis courts, and boasts a locally famous popcorn and snowball stand (seasonal). We hope you enjoy the setting as much as we do!
Metered parking is available directly in front of our building. Free guest permit parking available on street behind the apartment (we provide a guest parking permit free of charge). Our parking permit works great for Steelers game day, Pirates games, and stadium events (including concerts). We are located within a short distance of Heinz Field, so close that the parking lot across the street is used for fans and charges $45-65 to park on game day, making the free parking parking pass that is included in this rental a huge perk!
  • This space was exactly as pictured, perhaps even more beautiful. I was in town for a conference with a colleague and this provided a great break from the hustle and bustle of the day. I loved the record player and record selection to listen to while relaxing at night. Also, there are a few great restaurants in walking distance. Highly recommend!!

    Brittany2018-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • There are many reasons this apartment receives such glowing reviews. It is beautifully decorated. It is super comfortable. The hosts go out of their way to make sure your stay is successful. We were there for nine days and were very happy we were able to book it. It felt like a home away from home in all good ways. Everything was immaculate. They have great taste and I took photos to steal ideas. There were plenty of towels and Tp and stuff like that. We were busy with family events and not around much during the day but were very happy to be able to have breakfast there and end up there at day's end. We are 60 and super picky and were very happy with the beds, bathroom, kitchen.....Frankly this couple should just start a business renovating houses.

  • Jeb & Alissa were helpful and responsive. Their place was spotless and spacious. We loved the neighborhood and would stay here again.

  • The loft apartment was gorgeous and the decorating was classic and clean yet very warm and inviting. We loved the small details and the vinyl (records). The owners left us a nice little care package of coffee and snacks as well as a bottle of wine in the fridge :). We liked the area, it was quiet, there is a nice park down across the street and we watched the stadium fireworks from the living room window. It is a quick Uber anywhere you want to go in the downtown area. I would absolutely stay here again when visiting Pittsburgh.

  • Jeb and Alissa's space is comfortable, gorgeous, and convenient. My daughters and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • Jeb & Alissa's place is about as perfect as it gets. Artfully composed & designed, comfortable, spotless, and minutes from most museums. Have a question or need a suggestion, and they reply with ease. Quiet & safe neighborhood as well, right next to a park. Couldn't have been better!

BARGAIN ROOM 3 - This is a 2 Bedroom Suite with a Kitchenette and Private bath. Two rooms for the same price as my one of my Rooms with a Private bath. Stay in my BEAUTIFUL Victorian mansion filled with lovely antiques. This is a 2 Bedroom Suite divided by a door adjoining the rooms with a Kitchenette and Standalone Private Bath, located on the 3rd floor. The Rooms are fully furnished with bedding, linens, pillows, towels, hangers, tissue, and facial/hand wipes. The Shampoo, Conditioner and Soft Soap are in the Bathtub. When packing, don’t worry about finding little bottles to fill/buy or carrying the full size, I have them for your convenience. I also have items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, razors, etc.). These are available upon request, just ask. There’s also a blow dryer, flat and curling irons, and a set of hot rollers (lol) available upon request. A 7-11 is located cat-a-corner from my house (100 feet) if you need anything else. It’s open 24/7. The Iron and Ironing board are behind the door located on the second floor dining room. You may fill the Iron in the kitchen sink, empty it when finished and leave it on the kitchen counter. The iron is cordless. Keep it in the cradle when adjusting your garment so it stays at the desired temperature. You may help yourself to the iron and board or message me and I’ll set it up for you in the kitchen. Either way is fine. The Bed in the room with The Kitchenette, is a “Victorian Queen” in size. It’s smaller than a traditional Queen but larger than Full. It’s listed as a Queen Bed since there’s no selection for a “Victorian Queen”. Victorian Queens are 5 inches shorter and 6 inches narrower. The room without the kitchenette has a reproduction of a Victorian Queen but is the size of a Traditional Queen Bed. The rooms have Fireplaces but the back bedrooms fireplace is blocked off and the front bedrooms fireplaces gas is turned off. Anyone that lives in the midwest and east coast, know we suffered unusual high winds this winter which caused damage to my fireplaces. So I turned off the gas to all fireplaces at the source for safety reasons. My house doesn't have central air so there are radiators for heat and window air conditioners for cold in the summer. Each morning, I provide a continental breakfast which includes a variety of items. I’m conscientious of the dietary constraints, special needs and allergies my guests may have so I ask in advance if there are any. I make every effort possible to provide options and ensure their safety. I purchase Organic foods when possible. I’m educated for the following types of allergies, special needs and diets: Gluten-free, Lactose intolerant, Milk Proteins, Corn, Soy, Peanuts, Eggs, Dairy, Wheat, Red Meat, Tomato, Onions, Fish, ShellFish, environmental, Diabetic, Different types of Vegan: 1. Vegetarian 2. Lacto-Vegetarian 3. Ovo-Vegetarian 4. Semi-Vegetarian 6. Flexitarian/flexan 7. Pescatarian 8. Pollotarian 9. Vegan The coffee starts brewing at 8:00 am and all the perishable items are brought out and available by 8:00 am. Breakfast is not provided earlier than 8:00 am. If you want coffee or tea sooner, just hit the start button on the CoffeeMachine and or push up the button on the Tea maker and help yourself. I prepare the Coffee and water the night before so it’s ready to go at the push of a button. The Non-perishable items are always available in the dining room. All rooms are Clean, decorated with antiques or reproductions, have the original hardwood floors (there’s carpet in 2 areas where I couldn’t restore the hardwoods), crown molding, some have Wainscoting, some with fireplaces, and some rooms have the original gas lamps that were converted to electric. I originally bought my house to run as a full service B&B with all the amenities of including gourmet breakfast, daily room cleaning, nightly bed turn down (yes, the chocolate on your pillow) and a daily Happy Hour with wine, cheese and crackers served in the parlor. I did open and run my full service B&B which turned out to be too much work for an older single woman. After a year, I decided to try the Airbnb model. I stayed at a couple before I booked my first guest. I’ve found that I have a place that’s in between your average B&B and an average Airbnb listing. The Airbnb concept is two fold: 1. Provide people with additional income renting those guest rooms that friends or family stay in every few years. 2. Provide a more affordable means of lodging. Airbnb ranges from things such as tents and treehouses priced around $15 a night in rural area’s all the way to beautiful 4 story Victorian mansions providing 95% of the amenities that 5 Star Hotels provide. So, although the business model is the same in each case, it provides a wide variety to Customers (guests) looking for something that fits their needs, budget and lifestyle. My guests are immediately immersed into the ambiance of a beautiful old Victorian era home and neighborhood with that historical value that only a 143 year old home may provide. The guests reap most of a B&B benefits without paying the price that other B&B’s in the cities charge. Many times less than 1/4 what people will pay in designated B&B’s, Hotels or Motels. It’s really good when you can get a 5 Star experience paying 2-3 star motel prices. The big advantage more than the historical beauty and service is the location. Location, location, location! That’s what is usually the most important thing. I'm the closest Airbnb, B&B, Motel or Hotel to Heinz Field. I'm also centrally located to all areas and events in the city of Pittsburgh. I’m only blocks from everything once you jump on the T (The Pittsburgh Light Rail) that’s a few blocks from my house, free and will take you within blocks to most city attractions, events and popular area’s. You’ll enjoy my home and in particular this suite if you have a need for 2 rooms. Just remember to bring things to drink and snacks that would normally need refrigeration but you can’t get that in most places you stay but with the kitchenette, you have that along with a microwave. The privacy, views and tranquility is what you’ll find with this suite in the city atmosphere. I HAVE A TOTAL OF 5 LISTINGS IN MY HOME: Links to the other 4 rooms are below. Copy and paste the URL to display the each listing. ROOM 1 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/15370037?s=51 ROOM 2 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/183298?s=51 ROOM 3 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/14157821?s=51 ROOM 5 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/14572449?s=51 ———————$$$$$$$$$ This room is located on the entire (what I call floor 3 1/2. There is a 3rd floor at the top of the 3rd flight of stairs, currently not in use. This suite is up another flight of stairs which consists of 6 steps to floor, 3 1/2). One Room in the Suite is ROOM 4, it’s in the front of the house and has a view of Mt. Washington and Downtown Pittsburgh (gorgeous!). Since you’re approximately 60 feet from the ground floor, it stays rather quiet even though the street gets busy at times during the day, events, Football and Baseball games. The other Room in the suite is called ROOM 3 and faces the back courtyard. Behind my house is an historic church that has one of the largest collections of Tiffany glass in the world. It's listed as an historical landmark and you may want to see if the doors are open. If not, walk around the grounds and check out the beautiful exterior that contains much detail, you’ll see more and more craftsmanship and architectural nuisance’s each time you look at it. I’ve lived here almost 8 years and every now and then, I’ll notice something I never saw before, it’s an amazing church. That in itself is an awesome experience. The Private bathroom is just down the hall on Floor 3 through the empty room. Approximately 20 feet from each door in the suite. Since there’s no one on the 3rd floor, it’s an entirely private 3 and 3 1/2 floors, the rooms are together oddly in this 143 year old house. It’s quiet during the day and night for a house in the city but the rooms are up high and the brick walls are thick. You will hear noise but it’s not like you would expect. This suite is great for Family’s, two couples, a few friends, etc. perfect to visit Pittsburgh and have an entire 3rd floor suite with its own bath and small kitchenette. As a reminder, I supply all bedding and towels. Just bring yourself, suitcase and toiletries. I even have toiletries if you forget them. I have a long list of amenities so don’t worry if you forget or need something. If all else fails, there’s a 7-11 diagonally from my house, approximately 60 yards on the opposite side of th
The house is located in one of the oldest neighborhoods in Pittsburgh. Also known for the original millionaires of Pittsburgh. My home is 143 years old. The neighborhood has all Victorian and row homes built in the 1830's to 1900. Rich in history and culture. The neighborhood is quiet in the evening and very safe. There's a mixture of businesses, family homes, and apartments. The owner of the Steelers lives one block from my house. Art Rooney Sr. Lived in the neighborhood most of his adult life. I have a cat named Sam. He's a big old guy. 30 pounds and 15 years old. Sam is very friendly and welcomes all my guests when he's out of my room. I recently rescued a baby kitten that's 14 weeks old as of 10-20-16. He's very shy and doesn't go near people. Sam is allowed to roam freely throughout the house, so if you don't want Sam in your room, make sure to close the door. Please make sure NOT to leave doors to the outside open, Sam's an escape artist and will run out when he gets the chance. I'm sure the baby kitten will try the same, especially if he follows Sam. Both cats are indoor only cats. I usually don't let the kitten out of my room when I have many guests. He is a terror and gets into everything. The kittens name is Kingdom. He's getting bigger and smarter and sometimes will escape from my room. If you see him, please let me know. He has no problem venturing every floor in the house, but will run if he sees someone he doesn't know, which is everyone except me. Sam usually stays with me or flops down in one location unless he's getting attention from a guest. Sometimes Sam will take a particular liking to certain guests and follow them to their room. If allowed, he'd stay until they fall asleep, once he knows they're safe, go back down to my room. I do keep my door locked when it's bedtime and have both cats with me. Sam has fallen asleep with a few of my guests. Most recently a young girl. The father left the door ajar as he was sitting on the porch. The little girl remembered that I said Sam will usually leave the room once the guests fall asleep and he knows they're OK. She pretended to fall asleep, then she really did. Her dad found them both fast asleep when he went back to the room. He texted me asking if I was looking for Sam, I was. Sam heard him come in, got up from the bed and headed back to my room. They sleep in the room with me and know when it's bedtime, usually. For those that may have allergies, my house is all hardwood floors which I keep very clean. The cats have never bothered anyone with allergies. They may bother you if Sam decides to sleep with you.
  • Gorgeous Victorian home, all the amenities you could ask for, charming host, and a fantastic location on the North Shore next to Heinz Stadium and across the river from downtown. Literally could not have asked for anything more. Perfect stay.

  • Great rooms in a beautiful old home which is centrally located. Walking distance to Heinz field. In a a quaint area with little restaurants. Can't wait to go back.

  • Denise's home is lovely. It is within walking distance to both the baseball and football stadiums. She will have coffee and breakfast waiting for you in the morning (as well as cold juice, etc. in the fridge-she has a chalkboard menu for you), at whatever time you'd like. Her home was clean and beautiful. You will love the old feel of the house. She lives in a nice neighborhood near a park, stores, and restaurants; also a view of a church out of the rear-facing windows. There is free parking on the street in front of the house [depending on the timing of your stay- read signs]. Also two friendly cats to say hello to. Would stay here again; enjoy the b&b in this unique home in Pitt. for any type of traveler.

  • Everything everyone says about how wonderful Denise and her place are is totally true. Super convenient, easy on-street parking (which I really liked, I almost didn't bring the car and was so glad I did), and Denise is super nice, thoughtful, flexible, a great communicator. Wonderful stay.

    Chris2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our weekend at Denise's was absolutely amazing! We weren't able to get there until around 7:30pm, and she waited to greet us. Denise is a very kind soul...there's an instant warm and loving vibe as soon as you walk through the front door! The house was beautifully decorated and extremely clean - just as advertised. You feel like you're living in a different era. She had coffee ready every morning with juice and pastries. Love the location! Took my daughter to her 1st Steelers' game and the Science Center. It was a short walk to both! We didn't need to drive anywhere once we arrived. Denise made our stay so relaxing and fun (her cat actually fell asleep with my daughter one night)! I am definitely planning on staying with her next year! I highly recommend booking with Denise - you'll love it!

  • We had a wonderful visit to Pittsburgh. Denise was a fantastic host. Her home is immaculate and so close to everything. We walked everywhere and found a quaint burger bar a couple of blocks away which we ate at often during our 4-day stay. We look forward to staying here again next time we visit.

    Maria2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful host, place impeccably clean with lots of charm. Denise thought of everything -- even laid out a travel journal for us in case we wanted to record our memories. Great location, just a quick walk down to river/stadiums/museums. Highly recommend!

  • Spectacular! So, I'm a local and I've been waiting (im)patiently for this space to become available for rental, and when it did I JUMPED! The details in this space are out of this world. Elaine has such impeccably eclectic taste and it could take you days to really take in all of the art and details. You can really get an experience when you stay here. It's just so incredibly beautiful, interesting and unique. It was everything I wanted it to be and more! The open layout is a dream, the natural light un-ending, and the warmth and comfort is spot on. Elaine's space is also super close to everything you could want in Pittsburgh. Within walking distance are awesome restaurants, the stadiums, museums and the neighborhood of the North Side is a true gem in itself. Right across any bridge into the city opens you up to such culture-rich experience as well. Also--Elaine and her husband Mitchell were very quick to respond and so courteous with welcoming us into the space, having a bottle of Prosecco chilling for us as well as a guide to what was going on locally during the time we were staying. We didn't get a chance to take a dip in the hot tub but it looked wonderful and the outdoor patio/courtyard, which is private due to being closed in by all of the sides of the building. I am an Airbnb junkie and I simply CANNOT recommend this space enough!!

  • Phenomenal home and Dennis was a great host. Greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the house. We did not know the area and he provided some great food suggestions all of which we took and were not disappointed. House itself has been restored with a great attention to detail and we wish we could have stayed longer. When we find ourself in the area again, will definitely be looking to stay here :)

  • Amazing accommodations! Dennis was a fantastic host. He greeted us with a glass of wine and made sure our stay was comfortable. The room was sparkling clean and the bed was so comfy! The location couldn’t be better for an easy 12 minute bus ride into the city. We’ll be back! Highly recommended!!

  • Such an amazing place to stay with a great host! Dennis gave great tips for places to visit and his home is close to downtown!

    Mia2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures do not do the place justice. You have to see it to believe it. Anything you could want in an upscale experience is here. The breakfast served was the icing on the cake. Sitting in a formal dining room with classical music playing while eating scones and drinking tea. I swear, it sounds like I'm lying, but the place really is that magnificent. I only wish I had been able to enjoy it longer, as I was only in town for one night to watch a baseball game. Dennis was a great host and I really can't say enough good things about the experience.

    Josh2018-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Dennis was a very responsive and accommodating host, as well as, a very nice person — a true superhost, for sure. His historic home has been beautifully preserved and he has an outstanding decorating eye. The entire home couldn’t have been cleaner. This was my first visit to Pittsburgh and I will definitely be back — beautiful city, lots to do and very friendly people — and I hope to stay with Dennis again.

Take a step into history! There is no real way to describe the detail, architecture, and location of this place. It was carriage home by millionaire’s row in the 1900s and is still a historic building in PGH. The architecture is truly amazing, not to mention the convenience today! You can walk to all the stadiums, casino, and countless bars, restaurants, and breweries! The T takes your right downtown for FREE and is less than a half-mile walk.

  • This apartment is conveniently located, right near a park that our dog enjoyed and within easy walking distance of the river, the Mattress Factory, and other fun attractions. Matthew and his team were highly communicative throughout the process. We were one of the first visitors to this unit so there were a few finishing touches they were still putting on the apartment, but overall it's a very nice space. One note is that they were still in the process of getting a parking permit for this unit, so we didn't have permission to park on this block, but we were able to find free parking just a couple blocks away pretty easily.

  • This is place is absolutely gorgeous, clean and spacious. Has a very modern/urban and upscale vibe to it. Conveniently close to everything including some absolutely awesome eateries. Cherry on top is that Paula is an excellent host, who is very knowledgeable about Pittsburgh and is readily available to assist renters.

  • I can’t say enough about this place. Excellent location, even better interior than described, excellent host. The neighborhood was great, so close to the football stadium, baseball park, casino (all walking distance). Downtown isn’t far, and the neighborhood bars were great.

  • The townhouse was a great spot for the couple of days that we stayed-- a pleasant neighborhood and a unique, comfortable space. Paula was great-- really appreciated her offering an extra key, a place to park, and shoveling in the sub zero winter weather!

  • What an awesome, central location. We could walk to the museums and downtown was a short ride away. Paula made check in and check out very simple, and she's available for anything you need. Very clean. Also, there's free parking in the garage for 2 cars which was a lifesaver. Would stay again.

  • Clayton was a nice host for providing such a lovely place. I haven't discovered the beautiful north shore yet but his house was located in the heart of it. Enough room for big family and you will enjoy all the convenience that he provides. Highly recommended!

  • Absolutely fantastic place, location, and host. We really enjoyed the charm of this house as well as its central location and walk ability to so many other nice things to do as well. Great place, clean, comfortable - would definitely stay here again.

  • We loved everything about Clayton's home (and Clayton!)!! I wrote a very long review but my browser refreshed. I'll give you the sort of short and sweet version: the house was huge. We had 6 people and room to spare! The kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans and utensils--as were the bathrooms! We had need of nothing while we were there. If you're on the fence about booking this place, go ahead and jump down and click "request to book!" It's downtown ( in the best of ways) and incredibly safe area (newly gentrified). This place is near enough to transit options that there is always someone wandering by, which helps keep it safe! The house is in wonderful condition & perfect location. I lived in Pittsburgh for a few months and this house is in the best area to see the whole city-- close to all the great places! And you won't find a better host than Clayton! Seriously! Why are you still reading this? Go book this house if you're lucky enough to see an opening when you want to travel! You won't regret it.

  • This was an opportunity to live out a fantasy of old-world opulence in this surprisingly warm and inviting home. Clayton is very personable and provided really helpful pointers and information relevant to the the house and neighborhood. An extraordinary location! Not really emphasized in the list of selling points for this place - a little side porch/back patio area that was a cool place to sit and chat on a warm day, nice and breezy. We had a great stay, and our only regret was that we didn't get a chance to pet Bella, who is so charming in pictures!

    David2016-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • The house is amazing, pictures do not do this place justice. Clayton was very prompt in all communications, He suggested a few food places and the thai place *Nicky's* was the best and only 2 blocks away. If i return to the area, i'd be sure to rent his airbnb again.
