Arrive at the wonderful space we have created for a peaceful relaxing stay. Sit on the deck enjoying a gorgeous sunset with a glass of wine listening to the bird song. The spaces include a well-appointed kitchen, warm and inviting living area which has a sleeper couch to accommodate an additional guest - great for a friends retreat. Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space at the end of a private laneway. Accessed by external steps, the house is split into two pods connected by an external deck. Lofty ceilings and timber walls create a warm bach-like interior with large ceiling fans in each room and a log burner fire. Glass sliders open out to dramatic views of the harbour and hills. Enjoy a drink or BBQ on the large deck or unwind with a hot outdoor bath. Just a 5-minute walk from the local supermarket and brew bar.

Te Waihora Lodge, Lake Ellesmere, Christchurch

Te Waihora Lodge is a lovely farmstead accomodation, there is Toby the friendly and ever hungry KuneKune Pig, the Sheep and the Turkeys all residing on 20 arce's of Lakeside Beauty. Leeston town is only 6km away with local Pubs, Cafes, Restaurants and Markets to fulfil the needs. Picturesque Lake Ellesmere is across the road, with 50,000 birds at last count making it a bird watchers haven. Sitting in the Spa Pool watching the clear night sky and the thousands of Stars is always my highlight.

Darfield: Homebush School Cottage

Homebush Cottage is part of the 130 year old former Homebush School, located on the Southern Scenic Route, 8kms from Darfield township and close to popular Skifields, Lakes and amazing tourist destinations, thus making us the perfect stopover. The cottage is set on 3 acres including beautiful rambling gardens and tennis court. The Cottage is super comfy and suitable for a couple. We provide a self catering breakfast including free range eggs from Brown Shavers so no need to worry about food !!

Entire unit Relaxing rural home away from home

Large open plan kitchen. Two Large rooms, one Queen size bed in a common area (which incorporates the kitchen) and the other a king size bed in a large spacious bedroom. This accommodation unit is situated on a working farm in the quietness of the countryside with all the comforts of home. Common room with queen bed, includes full kitchen, microwave, oven, fridge, fireplace, bathroom, television, and DVD player, Sky TV. A private garden is also part of the quiet countryside accommodation.

Country Escape

My place is close to great views of the Southern Alps and away from the hustle and bustle of city living. It is a peaceful country escape. 10 mins to Darfield & 20 mins to Rolleston, and 30 mins to Christchurch or Christchurch airport. My place is good for couples and families (with kids). We are only a few minutes away from the hot air ballooning and an hour from the ski fields. The nearest golf course is only 5 mins down the road with several others available in the Selwyn district.

Relax & unwind at this unique and rustic getaway. This stand alone cottage which is centrally located in Rolleston, is an ideal place to stopover between the bottom and top of the South Island or a couple wanting to see the sights of Selwyn. The cottage has a self contained kitchenette, separate bathroom, shower, toilet, wood burner, heater, heated towel rail. 5 minutes from the beach; the mouth of the Rakaia River, a well known salmon fishing site; and Lake Ellesmere Waihora; on a working farm growing saffron, walnuts and forestry. There are plenty of friendly animals and maybe a freshly laid egg for breakfast. 45-50 minutes drive south from Christchurch city, 10 minutes east of state highway 1. The nearby villages boast outlets for local arts, crafts and antiques, and a fine swimming pool for the many hot summer days.
