Eat the Mission!

All food is included! First, we'll meet in front of the Delfina Restaurant (est. 1998); their award-winning pizzeria is where our journey will begin. Our culinary experience will cover a total of FIVE local eateries, featuring eclectic dishes that'll certainly satisfy your appetite. Of course, it wouldn't be a Mission food tour without a traditional taqueria (est. 1987) experience! While we may not physically dine in each location (crowds & lines), a collection of their most famous dishes will be ordered & prepped in advance by yours truly. Skip the line and get straight to eating! We will close the tour on a sweet note, permitting you to sample some of the best ice cream in the country. Choose your favorite flavor for an indulgent dessert! A massive meal awaits - just bring your eating pants, comfy shoes, an open mind, and a ravenous appetite for adventure! Learn what it takes to be a Pizzaiolo

Wanna spend a beautiful Sunday afternoon making your favorite food. All that's needed are your hands, your passion, and a little guidance from us and you'll be making and eating exceptional pizza. First I’ll show you how to make dough … and eat a little pizza. I'll teach you about the importance of time and temperature, about different yeasts and how to make poolish. Oh... it's recess... gotta eat some pizza. Next we'll practice what is probably the hardest yet funnest part of all.... opening up a Neapolitan pizza ball. You'll learn to massage the dough, so the air moves outward toward the edge - otherwise known as the cornicione. Now, take a moment , have some pizza. You deserve it. Then you'll learn to dress the pizza and then then launch it into the wood-fired oven. There's no turning back now. In 90 seconds your pizza will be finished. We'll practice this over and over using the same techniques I learned from a world champion. This will be the best class ever because you get to eat your homework!

Paso Robles Wine Tour in a Classic Jeep

My experience begins and ends at the Paso Robles Train Station or other local arrangements can be made. We pickup between 10:15 and 11 am and the tour ends at 4pm. Our six passenger jeeps insure an intimate experience for groups of 2 – 6 people. Reservations are often required by many wineries but itineraries are as spontaneous as possible. We primarily visit smaller production wineries. Three (3) winery stops are included with this tour. Miscellaneous stops can be considered and included such as olive oil tastings or visit to Tin City in Paso Robles. Using my Jeep, we have access to private vineyards and are able to offer our more adventurous guests a chance to go off the grid onto “dirt” where some of the areas greatest beauty and wildlife can be seen. For those who favor the flavor of beer, we can substitute a winery stop for one of the several breweries in the area but only with general consensus of all guests in the Jeep. Return home is generally between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm. Other things to note: We travel in classic 6 passenger open air Jeeps which is enclosed for inclement weather. Tasting Fees are discounted at 50% at any of our 20+ wine partners.

Learn how to raise backyard chickens

Imagine your breakfast with wholesome, nutritious eggs from your own backyard hens. Raising chickens is rewarding for the whole family. Come see for yourself! Get a chance to hand-feed our hens (fun for photographs) and see if it's for you. Or just relive what it is like to be around them if your grandma had them or if you were raised with them. I'll answer your questions and cover the dos and don'ts for starting and caring for your flock. How to choose the right breeds for your area, what age you want (Day-old chicks? Laying age? Hatching eggs?), house them, feed them, care for them, and still have your neighbors on speaking terms. This Experience focuses on chickens as pets and for eggs. I don't keep roosters or meat birds, although I will be happy to answer questions. Seating is provided. I will provide some resource notes on raising chickens as well as egg-based recipes to try later. My hope is you’ll enjoy spending time in appreciation of Nature, learn about where our food comes from, and slow down long enough to appreciate the sights, sounds and habits of chickens.

Workshops organized and led by Mehmet Eren Sogan, 2024 United States Coffee Taster Sommelier Champion Indulge in the rich, complex world of specialty coffee with our expert-led workshop. From the seed to the cup, we'll take you on a journey through the nuances of flavor, aroma, and taste. You'll learn how to taste, describe, and analyze a cup of coffee like a pro, as we guide you through 8 tastings on 4 flights, using manual pour-over methods. First, we will start by tasting 2 different origins and introduce the coffee farming practices. Secondly, we will taste the same coffee processed in 2 different methods all while pairing it with fruits to enhance the notes. The second part of the workshop will be focused on coffee brewing and the sensory experience. Then, I will introduce 2 different home brewing techniques using the same coffee to show how we can modulate the different attributes of a coffee. We will also learn about ratios, grind size, water chemistry, and techniques. The final flight will feature a rare micro-lot consumed in two different glasses to showcase the importance of the overall coffee experience. Find out what you can eat in the woods! We'll hike in the lovely Santa Cruz mountains where I'll guide you on a beautiful 1-2 mile walk in the unique coastal oak & redwood forest. Together we'll learn the ancient ways of identifying edible and medicinal mushrooms, plants, roots, flowers, nuts and seeds (depending on the season. This class is primarily learning HOW to forage and identify and is less oriented towards collection. If you're looking to collect and prepare your own dinner with pounds of mushrooms we find, this is not the experience you're seeking! (FYI Mushrooms come out after the rains in early Dec. and fruit through winter, sometimes into spring). Along the way we'll discuss proper harvesting & preparation. This experience is a fun, hands-on way to connect to what can feed, heal and harm us in the wild. You'll walk away with a new appreciation and understanding of our ecosytem! The hike is doable for all skill levels. See you on the trail! PLEASE BRING: LAYERS (it can get chilly in the redwoods and we hike RAIN OR SHINE), water bottle and comfortable hiking shoes. We'll meet at a local surf shop to get set up with a board and wetsuit. Then, we'll share surfing fundamentals, safety, and etiquette as well as review wave dynamics, positioning, and proper stand-up technique.
