Well equipped cottage. Comfortable, private, peaceful. There's a very comfortable double bed in the bedroom, and a quality sofa bed in the living room (please request additional bedding, £10). The kitchen is fully equipped, including a 6kg washer/dryer. Off-road parking outside the cottage. Secure bike storage - just ask! No beams or open fires. Just clean, comfortable, with everything needed for a peaceful stay. Please note, there is a bath with shower over - not a cubicle with power-shower.

Recently and stylishly renovated, this property used to be the communal wash house for the quiet tranquil village of Bolton Low Houses. It's location provides a relaxing getaway while being centrally based for exploring the Lake District, the Solway Coast, the border city of Carlisle, Hadrians wall and the Scottish border. A bus service runs through the village daily which will link you to Carlisle and West Cumbria including the Lakes. You'll find a shop 2.3 miles and a pub just 50 yards.

The perfect romantic retreat, Swallows Rest, is a converted 18th century hay barn. Belonging to the 17th century Grade II listed High Greenrigg House, it offers all the modern conveniences whilst retaining the character of such an historic building. The ground floor contains an open plan living room, dining area and fully fitted kitchen. There is a utility room accessed via a low stone doorframe. Hovel House Shed

The Shed has been custom built, in the paddock, near my small barn conversion. It has a homely atmosphere, with vintage furnishings and up-cycled items. Where possible I’ve tried to be eco friendly. This is a quiet, tranquil place with beautiful views of the Scottish hills beyond the Solway Firth. It’s part of a small hamlet and my former family farm. Animals are often kept in the fields next to The Shed. You’ll experience stunning sunsets and starry skies.
